What’s it like working at office depot
Like any other retail place, soul-crushing due to grunt work and low-pay.
More on reddit.comWhat is it like working at Office Depot?
Imagine working in a store that sold AOL CD's in today's internet. (They don't but it's kind of like that)
Imagine every person that walked into your store was a technology dinosaur that thinks a fax machine is cutting edge.
Imagine every person who walks into your store is a small business owner who thinks you should have typewriter ribbons for a machine bought in the 50's and expects you to walk them to every item they wish to purchase.
Imagine people who refuse to read and can't make a simple self-serve copy without a "calling corporate" blow-out.
Imagine customers so entitled that they lose their minds when even one person is ahead of them in checkout.
Imagine getting a truck in with one cashier, a manager and a copy and print person and trying to stock shelves all the while listening to whiny entitled bullshit from from the idiots that are Office Depot customers who show up in a Miata to pick up a full office suite of furniture. While you're trying to keep up with 20 online orders an hour.
Just don't. It's not worth it. The customers are the most entitled pricks I have ever had the misfortune to deal with and the stores get ridiculously low hours per week for staff. Too many other stores are paying decently if a retail job is what you're looking for.
