Is there any way to sign into the employee portal for taking days off at home?
Update: There is a way to do this on the phone. PM me for instructions. I’ll update this post with them later.
Since the memo was posted, this method isn't really a secret anymore. Here is a detailed guide:
For this method to work, you have to have setup a mobile profile from the Webtop link ("Retail Mobile Profile Setup"). You need to do that first.
-
Download and install Google Chrome
-
Download and install Citrix Receiver from here
-
Download the SecureAuth OTP Chrome Extension. This extension was discontinued, so you're going to have to install it manually
-
Once the SecureAuth OTP extension is installed, open it up in Chrome (should be at the top right corner by your user icon). It will ask for an address, type in sa.officedepot.com. It will ask for a username, type in your employee ID. Choose one of the 3 delivery options to receive your code, then setup your PIN and whatnot, and finish the profile setup process for the extension (note: if you did not setup your mobile profile in the store, you won't be able to get to the code delivery screen).
-
Head over to Office Depot's Remote Access Site. Type in your employee ID and network password in the respective fields. For the "OTP" field, activate the SecureAuth OTP extension, enter your pin that you setup after you installed the extension, and you will get a 6 digit code that you can enter in the OTP field. Proceed.
-
You are at another login screen. Enter your employee ID and network password once more, and select POS from the dropdown instead of NA (Retail workers use the POS domain, corporate uses the NA domain). Proceed.
-
You're now logged in. You should see a myCloud button on the page, on the right side. If you need to access The Source, use the "Internet Explorer 11" option (luckily they updated it so I think it actually uses Chrome now...). From The Source, you can access the Store Portal from the top of the page (there is a little button that says "Store Portal" by the search bar).
Btw if you need to save any documents, don't click "Save" in the browser. You must choose "Save As" and navigate to a folder.
Other than that, there is a desktop version of the SecureAuth OTP app that you can use instead of the extension workaround.
Also, you can login to the Citrix portal (Step #7) on your phone. Unfortunately, I haven't found a Citrix Receiver type of app for the phone that works right now.
