I accidentally removed the oil rubbed finish from part of my faucet - and it looks better without it. How to get the rest off?

Be cautious with anything acidic around that stone. It will etch it in a hurry. Copper will tarnish quickly but looks good with its natural patina. The copper on that faucet is only a plated layer and will be extremely thin and will wear through to the base material with too much abrasion. More on reddit.com

My wife bought this bath faucet thinking it was copper but it seems to be oil rubbed bronze. She wants me to remove the "oil rub" finish from it to show the copper color underneath so it matches closer to the drain shown in the picture. is there a chemical or a process to achieve this result?

You're trying to solve this with a chemical reaction when what you need is a physical reaction. You can achieve this by physically taking the bath faucet back to the store and buying one in the correct color. More on reddit.com
