You can now only have a paper tag on your car for just 10 days instead of the old two-month rule.
Edit: thanks y'all. Got what I needed!
So I've never bought a brand new or used car from a dealership. In a month or two I plan on doing so but I'm getting mixed answers on how much registration for a title and Tag would be. Google shows 11 bucks. Ive been told $1000 dollars plus.
Is there somewhere I could look to actually find this info? Call a dealership maybe? Any help would be helpful for a first time car buyer
So I’ve been a lifelong Oklahoma resident. Bought and sold many cars so I’m familiar with the process. I just recently purchased a car and went to the local tag agency to transfer the title and register the car and pay taxes and what not. After I got home I happened to be looking at the receipt and noticed a whole list of things I had to pay for that were a surprise to me.. a tire disposal fee for $11? And a notary fee of $66, keep in mind the title was already notarized when I walked in to the tag agency. I called them to ask them what these charges were for and the person I was talking to didn’t seem too knowledgeable on the subject so they were of no help. I guess I’m wondering if I’ve always had to pay these charges and I’ve just never paid attention or if this is something new.
I just moved here recently from California, I need to register my vehicle at my new residence in OK, but I am finding it hard to get information regarding my specific situation on the DPS website... and they don't answer the phone in my recent attempts.
Do I need an OK license to register my vehicle here? Or will I be able to register the vehicle for OK, with only my CA driver's license? Either way, what information would I need to bring. My license still reflects my previous address in California. My insurance has already been switched to represent that my vehicle is in Oklahoma.
