May 7, 2024Is this a scam? I don't know what an 'Old Navyist' credit card is. I get emails and calls saying to call Synchrony Bank and Barclays bank.
Small chance, but it’s possible someone has opened a card in your name. I’d look up and call the credit card company to see if there actually is an account with your name, and verify the last four of the account # in the email. The key here is to look up their phone number directly. Absolutely do not use a phone link or any link from this email. Also freeze your credit. It costs nothing and is the safest way to keep your credit clean and locked. More on reddit.com

The first purchase with it gets a 30% discount. It’s a pretty standard retail card with 5 points per dollar spent at the GAP brands. 1 point everywhere Mastercard is accepted. Every 100 points you get a $1 reward certificate you can use on purchases. You get free faster shipping on online orders over $50 when you use it. If you shop at the GAP brands then the card is valuable since it covers all stores within the GAP brand. It has no annual fee so no real reason in closing it unless you legit can’t stand looking at it. It has a high APR but won’t be a problem if you pay in full every month.

I have a question what did you ultimately do about this? I have a balance on my current old navy card and I'm thinking about paying it off and allowing them to close it. The issue is if they close it my my score will drop. I don't know if I should apply for Barclays (which might keep the "length" of the years I've had the account) or just take the hit
