I’d personally keep looking. Velvet’s really tricky. Some velvets are knits, minimal stretch, structure, zipper closure. Those are formal fabrics. Old navy’s is a stretch velvet, which is a knit sort of like velour. Images can look really chic with pinning/taping/photoshop, but in real life, it gets a lot of drag lines from the stretchy, body con “club dress” fabric. It also uses some cheap, unconventional hem stitches for velvet that make it heavy and bulky (but also under $50). Now if an airline lost my luggage, I’d give it a try in a pinch. alright, would this work for a black tie preferred wedding? (black tie preferred, think long gowns or fancier cocktail dresses is what it says). the wedding is indoor/outdoor in central new jersey end of November, so it'll be chilly. Im short so I think this will most likely end up being floor length. it also comes in red but bride has requested no one wear black as that's for the bridesmaids. Im not sure which color to go with but I think the tan?
