Difference between petite and short inseams for jeans?
Are GAP/Old Navy Petite jeans only shorter in length compared to Regular jeans, or do they also have adjustments in the hip area and other proportions?
Petite vs Regular Jeans, how to get the right length without weird crotch fit?
Women's Short vs. Petite Jeans
The difference between petite and short is that petite is shorter in the leg and hip area (about 2 inches) while the short is just short in the leg. Petite might be a better fit in that style for you! Hope that helps

There are a few pairs of jeans I’m eyeing that come in both “short” snd “petite” inseams. I see there’s a little chart for petite, regular and tall inseams, but haven’t seen what “short” is. Are they the same? Different?
I tried on GAP Regular jeans in the store, and they seem fine/good, the length is too long but that's OK, I can hem them. My local GAP store doesn't have my size in petites, so I'm wondering if there's any other benefit to ordering petite sizes online, other than the length.
i usually buy size 14 petite jeans at old navy and they fit perfectly around the hips and crotch. the only issue is the inseam (28") feels shorter than i want. i tried the same jeans in size 14 regular fit and regular inseam(30" inseam) thinking it would just be longer, but the fit around the crotch area was awful. there was way too much fabric and it looked really unflattering. i realized that petite vs regular isn’t just the inseam length but that petite is also changes the rise and proportions, which explains why petite always fits me better in that area.
what i’m looking for is jeans in petite sizing for the fit around the hips and crotch and ideally a longer inseam than 28" so they don’t look cropped on me. has anyone found a good old navy style that fits like this? i basically want that comfy baggy look but without the weird extra fabric in the crotch area. for reference the jeans I got that were too short we the mid-rise wow baggy wide-leg jeans.
