I hate the way I look in both of these photos I took at Old Navy. Nobody caters for my body type. I have small legs and a big belly that sags. Every pair of shorts I wear is tight in the waist and big in the legs. I just want to find some shorts that will hug my ass and thighs.
I have a similar body type. I just picked up some jegging shorts from Torrid that are the first pair of shorts in 15+ years that I don’t completely despise. They fit close, are super stretchy, and bonus - they don’t do that annoying creeping up the thighs thing! More on reddit.com

This was surprising to me, since I think denim shorts are a wardrobe staple. Still, the 5-inch mid-rise soft denim shorts looked promising and similar to what I tried at Old Navy.

I’m concerned as I see the low rise trend is coming back 🫣 usually I wear linen shorts or linen pants in the summer but I need a good jean short recommendation that doesn’t show too much. I’ve been looking at Everlane and H&M so far but I wonder if there are any tried and true pairs you love!

Old Navy without a doubt! I always end up buying 99% of my shorts and jeans from there bc there are a bunch of styles and I think they flatter my body type (sort of straight-sized but also a little mid-sized—somewhere in between). I also relied on them when I was plus sized and 50 pounds heavier—it really feels like they have something for everyone.
