Hello,
I wanted to share an app I found, in fact I may have seen someone mention it in this very subreddit. Sorry if you did and I stole your idea haha but I can't remember where I read about it. I hope this is allowed.
It's an app for sharing food and other items with people around you. You can offer or request items and set up pickup times, etc. I think it is a great resource for people to avoid making food waste and for people who need affordable (free) food options.
It could also be a great asset if you live in a food desert, somewhere that a grocery store isn't accessible. I don't think you could do all your groceries through this app but you could totally find the odd thing here and there if you need it.
I was thinking an app like this would be even better the more people use it so I hope you all try it. It feels like a good way to help the community.
NOTE: I do not work for nor am i paid by OLIO, i just heard about it somewhere and i love the idea.
Also re: current situation, they address such concerns here https://help.olioex.com/article/201-coronavirus-q-a
It has been confirmed by the NHS and FDA that it's very unlikely that c0ronavirus can be spread through things like packages or food.
I have been using the olio app to save some money for my weekly groceries..however my experience hasn't been so good. Is anyone experiencing anything different?
