So I ordered something that was supposed to arrive today and I just checked my Amazon account and it says that 'an attempt was made to deliver it'. I was at home the whole day and I haven't heard any door knocks or bell, and there is no note telling me anything.
They also say they will attempt to re-deliver on the next business day. Today is Saturday, so I'm assuming that I won't get it tomorrow. Does this change if you're using Prime; like will they try to deliver it tomorrow (Sunday) or will it still be Monday?
Thanks.
So I went to check the tracker to see how far my item has come..
"An attempt was made to deliver your package. You may find a notice of attempted delivery that provides more information."
I've never had this happen before, what is this & why did it happen? I'm a bit worried now :/
It is literally spelled out in English for you. The tried to deliver. Maybe they needed a signature, who knows? You know what would explain more? The note they left on your door. Like I said, they explained everything to you already.
The courrier went to deliver, you weren't home/didn't hear them come, so they left. They probably left a slip on your door.
I ordered something on amazon using the 2 day shipping and I got an email saying, "We tried but were unable to deliver your package. It's now available for pickup at your local Post Office." It also said to look for a notice of attempted delivery and it was no where to be found. How am I going to ask for a redeliver or a pick up without the slip?
same happened to me - amazon uses lowest-bidder shippers that has absolutely abbysmal scores
get a refund/reoderer and if you're lucky, the shipment will come next week and you got it for free
The past couple of times I have gotten a "delivery attempted, business closed" update on items shipped to my house. My family were home all day. Both times on a Friday, both times USPS. No notice left at the door either. I figure lazy carrier trying to finish early and not hitting all their stops. I called Amazon customer service because I figure they can get further with the post office than I can. This last time I was refunded the purchase price of my item. I don't blame Amazon but I figure if it keeps costing them money they will fix it.
I heard people can track where the carrier is and I didn’t know you can do that so idk where they were but I opened the app and it said this I didn’t hear them knock or nothing but I was gone for like 20 mins and hour before this but I was at my home at 3:07 honestly idk what happened. It required a password also.
I ordered a new graphics card for my computer, which I needed for my online zoom interview tomorrow (will just have a black screen without it). The item I bought was same day delivery, and it would arrive by 10pm.
I’m sitting near my door with the security code for this guy to turn up. Look at the map, 8 stops away. On my ring doorbell I see him driving past. I check the tracking again, and I receive the message, “delivery attempted today at 8:31pm”
The driver never showed. He would need to come to my door anyways to receive the code and give me the parcel. I also have footage of him not showing on ring.
I couldn’t believe it, spent 30+ mins trying to contact real support, as they’re mostly bots who don’t help. Eventually I got through.
I explained everything to the support lady who tried to contact the driver. He didn’t respond. She has escalated the situation by speaking to the drivers higher ups I believe.
She informed me hopefully they can send him back out tonight, or if not tomorrow. It’s past the last delivery time of 10pm, so I’m guessing I will have to wait till tomorrow.
This means I will have to go over to a friend’s just to do this interview, because of these lazy drivers who clearly can’t be bothered to drop off a parcel, and would rather get off early.
Don’t think I can trust Amazon delivery again because of this. Amazon really need to crack down on these issues, as I have seen plenty of other posts similar to mine.
Also shout out to the lady on customer support. Was very helpful and understanding. —————————————————————————— Edit for future readers with the same issue
If you have the same issue and need to contact support but can’t find the number, go to:
Customer service
Click the item
Problem with delivery
Need more help
Request phone call
Go through automated system and say “no” to the send message for item tracking details
When they ask for any other issues say “yes”
When the bot asks “describe your issue” say “customer support” or something along those lines
Hopefully the system will put you through to a real person
Hope this helps!
Twice in two weeks I'm dealing with "delivery attempted" bs. They keep making up reasons as to why delivery was unsuccessful.
Today I waited outside the building and noticed the Amazon truck pull up. I saw the driver bring in some packages and I asked if that was all the packages. Driver accessed the building without issue. My package wasn't included. I asked if there was another driver on the same route, and was told they didn't know.
Half an hour later I get a message in the app that a delivery was attempted half an hour ago.
The only conclusion I can come to is that the package was never on the truck. We always think it's drivers who are bs-ing, but now I'm wondering if Amazon themselves aren't using this "delivery attempted" bs to extend the delivery date unofficially.
I personally don't mind being told upfront something is going to take two weeks to arrive. But if you claim delivery in one week then use these "delivery attempted" games to extend the delivery date by a few more days, that's straight up lying.
So anyway, my proposed solution to this, whether it's the driver's issue or Amazon playing games, is that we need the same kind of proof that Amazon provides for deliveries to be provided for attempted deliveries. Take a photo of the attempt and include it in the report.
