What are some good free online games on PC?
Online Gaming PC for Fortnite
Here's a 5600X + 6700XT setup for $1500.
-
Chose the 6700XT as it's only $480 but you get 3060Ti-like performance, you do lose raytracing and DLSS but those aren't really things you're going to care about if your main game is Fortnite. Great card for entry 1440p and will definitely play most if not all games at 1080p 165Hz. I really don't think a 6750XT is worth the $100 price difference over a 6700XT, it performs maybe 5-7% better for a whopping 20-30% price increase.
-
Chose the 5600X as it performs similar to the i5-12400(f) from Intel but with the AMD CPU paired with AMD GPU, you get a small boost from Smart Access Memory. Also, since you want Windows 10, I think AMD is a better choice because this generation of Intel CPUs lose a bit of performance in Windows 10 compared to Windows 11 (because of task scheduler).
-
The motherboard is currently very cheap at $130 and comes with wifi/bluetooth, good build quality, and basically punching above its weight for a $130 motherboard. Pcpartpicker says you have to update the Bios, but that should not be an issue for the 5600X as it's already been out for 2 years++. So it should already ship with the correct Bios.
-
16GB of 3600MHz RAM, this is the cheapest kit available on Pcpartpicker and will be sufficient for this system. Paying any more money for the same quantity of RAM is a bit of a waste of money imo, the performance improvements are so small.
-
1TB MP34 SSD, great bang for buck PCIE 3.0 NVME SSD with fast 3000mbps speeds and a very durable 1600tbw endurance rating. At only $85 I find it difficult to recommend anything else and not much reason to pay anymore than this for an SSD in what is essentially a $1200 PC.
-
PSU is a decent and cheap 650w gold from Evga, it's Tier B and fully modular. Gets the job done, and 650W is what AMD recommends for the 6700XT.
-
Case is a good value pick, it's got a glass side panel, a PSU basement, and includes 3 fans for the price, which I think is pretty reasonable. With other cases in this price range you have to add more fans yourself. This case also has a mesh front so the stock airflow is totally acceptable.
-
The CPU cooler is optional (stock cooler of the 5600X is fine) but it adds a bit of flair to the PC and helps to improve temperatures/acoustics since the stock cooler can run a bit hot and loud.
-
For the monitor I've chosen Gigabyte's G24F, which is a pretty good pickup for $180. It's pretty fast and has pretty good colors. If you'd prefer to save $10 and don't mind a slightly slower 144Hz, then I'd totally recommend the AOC 24G2 instead, it's an older model but it's got very good colors and contrast for the price while also being pretty fast in terms of response times and lag. Also, please do yourself a favor and buy an IPS panel, TN monitors are garbage with horrible washed out colors and modern IPS, which has much better colors and vibrancy than TN, isn't even slower anymore, so just get IPS.
-
The keyboard is a $30 Epomaker, for the price I don't think you can do better than this - hotswappable optical switches (this comes with blues which are clicky), good build quality as expected from Epomaker, RGB backlight. It's a 60% layout which some find a bit on the small side but heard eSports gamers like smaller boards so.
-
Mouse is a good quality wireless Logitech that's fairly light, has a generally comfortable shape, and fast (low input lag).
-
Since the monitor doesn't come with speakers, I threw in a cheap pair of speakers that don't suck just for some audio output.
-
And finally, since you are level 1 PC builder, I included a USB flash drive version of Windows 10, retail copy, in your $1500 budget. It cost $140 but is plug and play into the PC right away. And you can transfer the license to your next PC as well.

So me and my 3 other friends want to play together and we want some decent free online games. We are currently playing Valorent but we are cool with anything if itโs fun and not too demanding.
