TL;DR: It Takes Two is my biggest and most general recommend. There are a lot of types of games that can be played with one other person. Either co-op or against each other or against other players. If you don't mind competitiveness there are a lot of options. Overwatch, Rocket League, Fall Guys and many more. There are a lot of co-op crafting and survival games that are pretty great to play with friends or a loved one. Minecraft, Don't Starve Together (can be pretty brutal and you can actually lose), Valheim, Satisfactory, Core Keeper, and many more. I think Stardew Valley got co-op added as well. It's great to build a little home and grow stronger and better together with your partner. There are games where you can go through an adventure together. It Takes Two is just fantastic for two people to play through together. It's literally made for it. Borderlands series, Divinity, Diablo series and so on. There are many arcadey little games you can just play around with and have fun. Overcooked, Mario Party, Among Us (requires more players), Towerfall Ascension, and so on.
