I’ve started to realize that I spend a lot more time on my computer/laptop than any other electronic device. I enjoy doing the daily games you can find around the internet but I just can’t seem to find any other good web browser games. Anyone out there know any good ones that are fun and to cure my boredom?
I played a game called Utopia a long time ago. Runescape is a popular one. I don't have super fast internet so I'm looking for browser-based game ideas!
Adventure Quest Worlds. Flawed, but offers a lot.
Not browser anymore. Not since Flash ended.
I found these two subs and thought others might want to check them out:
-
Persistent Browser Based Games - https://www.reddit.com/r/PBBG/
-
play fun, challenging, and strategic video games that can be played in the comfort of your own browser - https://www.reddit.com/r/WebGames/
This seems to be a much more narrow topic than I first expected when searching the web. It seems like all online multiplayer games I can find on itch.io are ones where you download a client. I'm trying to learn online networking with GameMaker and was hoping to find existing examples of web client networking on itch.io, since that's a place I like to release games, to see if I could reach out to games' creators. However I can't find any games up there that seem to connect to each other while in the browser. Is this simply not a thing that can happen at the moment on itch, or am I searching wrong?
Side note: Even in-browser games that aren't multiplayer but send data back and forth to a server would be useful to me to see.
EDIT: So far some Unity games have come up, that's fine too, it'll be neat just to see what's out there
Post some good multiplayer games that we can all get together and play today! Even if they require signups! Just post them in this thread, and if it requires a login, please mention that in your post.
PCGamer's article on a collection of great, free browser games you can play with friends or strangers: http://www.pcgamer.com/15-multiplayer-browser-games-to-play-right-no/
The list from the article:
-
Vikings Village: Party Hard {in development; Manly pixel vikings punch each other over being called a ginger (despite all of them having ginger hair) in this deadly battle of the beards.}
-
Blast Arena {in beta; You and three other players try to survive and destroy each other in a maze-esque area full of walls and rocks that can be broken}
-
LaserSharks.io {you play a shark with a laser attached to your head, swimming around the ocean eliminating other sharks}
-
Isleward {in development; a low-res roguelike that has you choosing what character you want to play before dumping you on your own into the city of Strathford, eventually you'll run into other people and hopefully convince them to adventure with you}
-
Agar.io {play as a circle that consumes others to grow bigger}
-
Slither.io {multi-player pvp snake}
-
War Brokers {in beta; a first-person voxel team shooter}
-
Skyarena.io {You fly a large aeroplane, desperately trying to shoot down various other craft in the sky and the players piloting them}
-
Transformice {It's the idiocy of the crowd, in a pure and distilled form}
-
Town of Salem {This roleplaying game challenges you to be a conniving liar and mislead other players}
-
MS Paint Adventures {a text adventure/web comic hybrid that essentially allows the audience (players) to vote by democracy on what they want to happen next}
-
Gartic.io {One player is chosen to draw a random word while the others must watch and guess what the word is}
-
Kingdom of Loathing {The whole game is consistently absurd and amusing, from the enemy types, to the genre conventions it apes so cleverly. And while you can't directly play with other people, you can steal their stuff, join guilds and interact with them.}
-
Wilds.io {This hack and slash follows the core principle of killing people you don’t like the look of, and finding loot spread around the map}
-
Realm of the Mad God {it's a hard as nails shmup}
-
Pokemon Showdown {jump straight into matches against other players without having to level up or care for your pokemon beforehand}
-
Squadd.io {An isometric shooter in which you can battle with your friends against an opposing team, or fight in a free-for-all with everyone}
-
Mechar.io {control a giant mech that can hold various different guns and pickups simultaneously}
-
Everybody Edits {a multiplayer platformer. The catch is that, while the other players can't directly effect you in any way, by progressing through the levels, they screw with you in the most frustrating way.}
-
Little War Game {This pixelated strategy game has you building your own kingdom while trying to fight and take down others}
-
Brutes.io {it's you against other muscled monsters who are enthusiastic about boxing}
-
Neptune's Pride {a real time strategy game in the same way that glaciers move in real time, set in space and all about galactic expansion}
-
NoBrakes.io {a racing game where you are trying to beat other players to checkpoints along the track}
-
Powerline.io {A version of Snake... but with a twist}
-
Hexar.io {takes some slight inspiration from Snake, but instead of growing your tail, you are capturing parts of the screen and expanding your color’s dominance}
-
Slaim.io {play a colorful pixel slime that can wield a gun}
-
Foes.io {a sleek arena shooter that pits you against enemies as the arena gradually gets smaller and smaller}
-
Lordz.io {become the dominant kingdom in the land}
-
Treasure Arena {This 16-bit adventure game has you battling in a dungeon over valuable treasure}
-
Snowfight.io {You throw snowballs and freeze enemies until they become snow-people}
I know people really like these types of games but I can't seem to find a list of these types. I'm looking for party/casual games to play with/against friends online through voice chat. Games similar to:
JKLM.fun
Skribbl.io
Cards Against Humanity (and variants Xyzzy, etc.)
Codenames
Spyfall (Crabhat)
Jackbox Games
Gartic Phone
Preferably games that people can just click a link and play instantly with simple rules and stuff. Preferably free.
Not looking for games like:
Games on steam, need downloading (for everyone at least) - must be accessible to most people
(most) .io games - private room online multiplayer
Thanks in advance!
So every weekend, I host a weekly game event where I play with a discord community, and it seems that I'm running out of games that I could find. Although I could just reuse a game that we played before but it would have been if I got a lot of options.
Of all the weekly games we did, I think the lowest number of members who played with us was eight (8). The Maximum was fifteen (15). So basically, if you guys know any party games that you know of, it'd be greatly appreciated to share them with us!
Note: The games must be free where people don't have to download/install, smartphone-friendly, and supports at least 8-15 people. If the maximum number of players supported is 30 to 100, then it'd be great!
These are the games that we played before, so it'd be great if you suggest a game that isn't yet included in the list below:
Gartic Phone
Skribbl IO
Draw Battle (Imagine Skribbl IO but team-based)
Pretend You're Xyzzy (A "Cards Against Humanity" clone)
All Bad Cards (A better "Cards Against Humanity" clone)
SpyFall
Songlio (A music guessing game)
Jigsaw Explorer (doing jigsaw with a lot of players was chaotic fun)
Hello Everyone,
This year I set out to finally start a project I have been thinking about for many years. Building a site with 100% of the focus on local multiplayer games for myself, my kids and my wife to play + whomever else finds it. As of this year I have built 19 games, with one more about to be release!
This is my first post in this subreddit as I wanted to have a good collection before I joined and promoted this, which I now feel is in a good spot.
If you're looking for some classic and original small games to play locally on your computer, I would encourage you to check out my site! A plus, some of these games work on mobile browser as well!

Sample image of a few gamesBest regards
p.s. As someone learning to develop games over this past year, they should in theory get better with time :)
Basically just what the title shows. I wanna know if anyone knows any online multiplayer browser-based free board games. I wanna play them with my online friend. I'm on a chromebook and I can't download anything so I'm hoping on finding a fun website to play them on with my friend.
Exactly what is described in the title. Looking for any type of multiplayer game where a friend and I can play via our web browsers on separate computers. An example would be this: https://www.quibbble.com/games
Thank you!
So I've been playing UNO on crazygames.com and I love how I can play it with discord friends. I don't have the money to buy steam games but I wanna bond with them. So what other web games are there besides UNO that has a host room
So my GF and I are "medium" distance. We video call each other on Google Meet everyday. What are some fun things we can do online?
So far we watch movies and TV shows on (ahem) non Netflix sites by just clicking play at the same time and making sure it's sync now and then.
She is not a Gamer at all so we're just looking for fun browser games with no baggage- login, learning curve, downloading etc.
I found Bloob.io which is absolutely perfect and what I'm looking for, but the selection of games is very limited.
Another one is scribbl.io again, great but only one game. We spent a few hours here.
Any other options?
Ideally it's a website where you create a room Or share a link and then choose a small fun flash game to play. Or any other trinkets of the internet to explore?
As COVID is still affecting our regular game evenings, I started a site to collect games you can play with your friends online. I primarily focus on games you can play in a private room with your friends. Some are browser based, some are "real" games: https://playwithfriends.link/
If you have any suggestions for games to be added, let me know :)
This is really nice! I've seen most of these, but it's great to have a collection.
Others: Broken Picture Phone (similar to Gartic)
Hanabi (haven't tested this one)
Telewave (Wavelength board game online implementation, is a bit clunky and generally you want one person to share their screen via Discord or something, but it works well once you get going).
Resistance: Avalon (also haven't tested this one).
Would it be possible to have people add games to the list you’ve already assembled on the website?
