July 27, 2021 - Here are the items that might be considered valuable: Automatic crash response Stolen vehicle assistance Remote key fob (which you already said isn't of interest to you) On Demand Diagnostics (this can actually allow the code for a warning light to be pulled remotely by a dealer in some instances) In Vehicle Data (useful if you have kids with tablets that aren't hooked up to your phone plan) Guardian App (Offers use of crash response, roadside assistance, and family tracking via a phone. This can be used while in any vehicle) OnStar seems to be a dying feature, but if you want an argument in favor, that's the best I have.

For some reason I couldn’t get my iPhone “Find My” App that my phone came with to ever let my family members/loved ones to be able to even see my location! So, my Father said “forget going crazy over that stupid thing, my car comes with this great Guardian OnStar App that I can add you to.” It worked automatically and was so easy to setup.

The first feature is quite useful since it works with a smartphone's sensors to detect a crash. Even if you're a passenger in a vehicle without OnStar, the Guardian mobile app can alert OnStar to a crash and tell an advisor to contact emergency services.

I imagine OnStar would be a proxy to get a tow truck. With the AAA app, I just selected dead battery and did not have to call anyone. The AAA app monitoring of where tow truck driver was seemed to be ok, of course the driver was a little slow to start his day. My wife used it too for a flat and was "amazed" by it. Her service seemed to be much faster response than mine. ... Thanks for the reply smooth-ride.
