I recently tried out OSM again and found it was pretty amazingly complete. I had issues before with it missing streets in my area but it has them all. Even a new street that went in a couple months ago. Only thing OSM is missing is traffic information and speed trap reporting. More on reddit.com

Yep. I use it for development. Google wanted 10k/yr for commercial use of Google Maps. This one's free. Amazing stuff. More on reddit.com

January 24, 2018Why use OpenStreetMap instead of Google Maps?
I was pleasantly surprised by Here We Go . The interface is very Google-like, and it even shows house numbers when you zoom in, which I have not been able to get from Google Maps for a while. More on reddit.com

True story:
Having recently been compelled to use Google Maps for once, I wanted it to take me to the beach; however, it decided to lead me straight into a military checkpoint - AT GUNPOINT 🪖!

When I pointed to Google Maps, they nodded in understanding and let me go ;)
Google just thought it would be a nice idea to take a shortcut through a completely off-limits military zone.
