"Restore icons" requires that you have notifications turned on in Windows so that Windows can show you a notification asking if you want to allow the pinning of that taskbar icon. This should work with Windows 11 23H2 for example, but it's currently broken in 24H2 (no notification, even if you have notifications turned on in Windows). You can create a desktop icon at least. Right-click on your desktop, goto "New" and choose "Shortcut". In the dialog, browser to "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera GX\opera.exe" and click Next. Then, type "Opera GX - Name_You_want" for the shortcut's name and click "Finish". Then, right-click on the shortcut, goto "Properties", switch to the "Shortcut" tab and modify the target field command to load the specific profile you want. Example: "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera GX\opera.exe" --side-profile-name=the_profile_id --with-feature:side-profiles --no-default-browser-check --disable-usage-statistics-question The profile ID is the profile's numbered folder in "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera GX Stable\_side_profiles". "313436345F31373136373230393934" for example. To tell what profile is which, go into each folder and open xxxxxxxxx_sideprofile.json to see its name. Then, click "apply". How do I get my profile picture back back on Duolingo?
You can do still change it from the website, but it's probably only a temporary thing. Ultimately they're probably looking to replace custom profile pics with avatars across the platform. One less thing to moderate. More on reddit.com

Hey, I accidentally removed my 2nd profile "opera://settings/side-profiles-settingsfrom" from the taskbar and can no longer open it. If I click on the three dots and click on “Restore icon”, it doesn't work either.
Edit: Otherwise I always had 2x Opera GX in the taskbar. Because I need 2 different bookmarks for work

So every time I click on the Chrome app it immediately redirects me to a new tab on a specific account instead of the profile selector page. I clicked the show on startup button but it doesn't save and still redirects me to a new tab page. Can someone help me? It's so annoying to manually open a ton of buttons just so I can move from another profile instead of just one simple click.
