r/XboxSeriesX on Reddit: Suggestion for good open world game I can sink some hours into
February 20, 2024 -

I’m looking for a new game to play, and would like suggestions for a good open world game, ideally FPS but third person is okay I guess. My recent favourites have been FO76 and the Far Cry series, and for third person I enjoyed Velheim (although more the survival aspects, not so much the monsters).

I do want to play Fallout 4 but am waiting for the rumoured next gen upgrade.

Ideally something open world or at least a very large map so I can sink some hours into the game.

I prefer my weapons to be guns, not swords etc.

Bonus if it is on GamePass or not too expensive 😂

Thanks for any suggestions!

Recently got a series x, researching games to check out. Curious to see what y’all recommend these days. Have played Witcher 3, would absolutely revisit (and likely will). Saw cyberpunk, mafia looked interesting…

I am looking for massive massive open world games which released in past 3-4 years. Where you can forget main story and just explore new area and build your character, like Skyrim, witcher 3, Fallout 4. I am sure Elden Ring and Starfield are that kind of game. Is Cyberpunk that massive like Fallout 4? Also not sure about Hogwart Legacy.

I'm on the hunt for some new games to dive into on my Xbox, and I'd love your recommendations! I'm a big fan of open-world story games, and one of my all-time favorites has been Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Here's a list of the games I currently have on my Xbox:

  • Assassin's Creed Valhalla

  • Starfield

  • Dead Island 2

  • Fortnite

  • Roblox

  • Minecraft

Based on these preferences, what games do you think I should check out next? I'm open to any suggestions and would love to hear about your personal favorites. Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

r/XboxSeriesX on Reddit: Open world games with pretty worlds and no or at least minimal inventory/skills management?
February 4, 2022 -

Hi everyone! I’m looking for an open world xbox game primarly about exploring and/or fighting, rather than managing a large inventory. I don’t like bethesda games for instance, despite being good games I get so tired of all the planning, resource management, selling to vendors etc. Indie or AAA does not matter, and it’s a plus if the game is pretty to look at or has an interesting aesthetic. Hope you guys have some tips!

r/xbox on Reddit: Advice on open world post apocalyptic game Need to get back in to Gaming
October 29, 2025 -

I stopped playing video games when my first daughter was born. I used to love playing the world at war call of duty game but dad duties called and over the last 17 years things got busier and busier . I want to get back to gaming casually and would love to start with a game that is somewhat of a post apocalyptic open world game with great first person shooting but also good options on building my own blogs and things like that. I tried the fallout game that came out a few years ago but the shooting portion was so bad for me . I hated it. Any recomendations? Thanks

The best open world games on Xbox
February 3, 2025 - While you can play through the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance if you wish, if you have an Xbox Series X or S you might want to jump straight in this sequel, which is simply bigger and better. Put in control of a bodyguard called Henry, you’ll find yourself let loose in a world that is hostile and reactive to your choices and actions. And while you can push on with the game’s story if you wish, it pays to explore, take things at a steady pace and develop your abilities in any way you can.

November 29, 2025 - 3DS, Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Wii U, PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360 ... As if it could be anything else. It's hard to overstate the immense impact Minecraft has had since its launch, revolutionizing indie gaming, survival gaming, and the kinds of games studios would make for over a decade. Due to its procedural generation, the player is always placed in an unknown world, and starting with nothing but simple hands willing to beat wooden blocks out of trees, they need to figure out how to survive.
