Are there any good free to play open world games similar to GTA V with the missions and police chases?? Ik there is APB reloaded but I've heard it is not good or it is very pay to win so yeah. Ive also heard of some games coming out that have similar aspects to GTA V eg. Paradise but I'm genuinely not a patient person 😅. Any recommendations??

Hi. I want to play some open world game. I really like older GTA games. I think Vice City is my favorite followed by III and next San Andreas. There are some title that I have in mind. I can play them both on steam or PS5. However I don't like shooting on PS5 because I suck. If a game is heavy on shooting I can't get past this unless there is nice aim assist(not to strong). I played uncharted games on PS5 and it didn't bother me in those games, well maybe a little. So games I have in mind are:

Watch Dogs 1 ( 2 and Legion seems to have too juvenile graphic and aspects)
Sleeping Dogs - combat looks nice
Yakuza
Infamous Son 5 Anything else??

Sleeping dogs is 100% the game you're looking for. It's essentially GTA in China but you're playing as an undercover cop, you can choose to be good or evil. You can steal cars and motorcycles, do things around the city, you have an apartment like in GTA 4, and there's a bunch of side stuff you can do too. It also has hand to hand combat similar to the batman Arkham games It's on PC and PlayStation, so if you don't want to deal with shooting using a controller I'd get it on PC. Infamous second son is nothing like GTA, it's an action game with no guns (but you can shoot elemental powers like smole balls and neon energy things) and there's no driving. Yakuza also isn't much like GTA, the open world is very small and it's more of action RPG than an open world sandbox like gta Anyway, watch some gameplay of sleeping dogs, I think you'd like it.

Watch Dogs 2 is far better than the original. Lots more going on. The first game is honestly a bit dull and repetitive, it took the second time around to find their feet with it. Never got around to Legion, that one didn't appeal as much to me. But definitely don't write off Watch Dogs 2. I'm getting the impression that you're looking for stuff set in the present day. But you should also consider the Mafia series and Red Dead Redemption 2.

As far as I know I've only played these two big open world games where you can take things at your own pace and do loads of side quests and explore freely etc. Love the style of these games but not sure what else is out there with a similar game play? Any suggestions would be appreciated! I play xbox series x but also have a switch

I would suggest Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk. Both games have similar quality writing to the Rockstar games, and both games have large open-worlds. Witcher 3 is a medieval setting though. No guns. Is Xbox Series X the most recent Gen? I wouldn’t recommend CP2077 on an old Gen console.
