Something like this may help.

#include <iostream>
#include <opencv2/opencv.hpp> //for opencv3
#include <opencv/cv.hpp> //for opencv2

int main(int argc, const char * argv[]) {
    cv::VideoCapture video("video.mp4");
    double fps = video.get(cv::CAP_PROP_FPS);
    std::cout << "Frames per second : " << fps << std::endl;
    video.release();
    return 0;
}

Getting the correct frame rate - OpenCV Q&A Forum
I am using OpenCV 3.1 on VS2015. I have a video that, according to the file properties, runs at 26 FPS. I am trying to set the waitKey in such a way that it will allow the video to play at the correct frame rate. Here is a snippet of my code: clock_t begin = clock(), end = clock(); unsigned int count = 0; float FPS = 0; int wait = (int)(1000.0/cap.get(CV_CAP_PROP_FPS)); std::cout << "Video show a frame every " << wait << " milliseconds (" << cap.get(CV_CAP_PROP_FPS) << " FPS)" << std::endl; for (unsigned int i = 0; i < (frames-1); i++) { if ((end - begin) / CLOCKS_PER_SEC >= 1) { FPS = (float)

Capture speed / framerate of cv2.VideoCapture - Python - OpenCV
Hi all, I’ve been playing around with python, opencv, a raspberry 4 and a “pi hq cam”. The thing is, the time it takes to capture is really long. The pi cam could, in theory, do 1920x1080@30fps. I’m not aiming for that but what I’m getting is more like 2-3 fps when using videocapture. More on forum.opencv.org

r/opencv on Reddit: [question] Is there a way to read a Video file with pre-specified FPS with opencv-python?
June 27, 2023 -

Hi,

I'm using OpenCV with Python.

Is there a way to read frames from an existing Video File with an imposed FPS for the input stream?

Does VideoWriter flow behaves well with float point FPS values? I might only need this if I can't get input stream to accept an imposed FPS.

Thanks.

I've had a very limited experience with OpenCV. So, if the Question seems limited by my know-how of OpenCV.. I'd appreciate any knowledge related to this use case
