How 'stable' is Leap 15.4 beta?
Yes, Leap 15.4 is frozen now and no big changes are expected. So yes, probably comparable to Debian testing a few months before new Debian release.
I see NVidia repositories already exist, so it should work. If kernel will receive some incompatible change breaking NVidia, you can simply boot with older kernel until it is fixed.

openSUSE Leap 15.4 Reaches Beta Build Phase
Finally Plasma 5.24

I'm looking for a distro that includes the new Plasma 5.24 release for long term use but which is a stable, non-rolling release distro (which is why I'm not considering Tumbleweed). Leap 15.4 ticks a lot of boxes for me here - it's a fixed release, it's from a major player rather than a one-person band, it features Plasma 5.24 LTS.
However, it's still in beta! My question is - how stable is the beta, particularly for Nvidia users? Am I likely to get Nvidia breakage on updates as things shift and change, or is an openSUSE beta close in concept to a Debian "freeze", where nothing much changes and the only thing going on is testing and bug fixes?
Thank you! :)

SuSE newbie here. I've really not taken care running TW. I update regularly, before class too. Can't break the thing so far. LEAP is revered for its stability, wherever you look and suse has been shipped with kde for a while now. They're "in sync", I believe. AFAIK LEAP is corp-server grade stable. If you don't fumble with community repos, it won't stop going. KDE belongs to the core of suse; even if its on beta, it's thouroughly tested and won't break either. Just my expectation with a little XP. Edit: nVidia might change that due to drivers from non-official repos though. No XP with nVidia propr. assets.
Hi all,
An updated openSUSE Leap 15.4 ISO has been released recently
openSUSE-Leap-15.4-DVD-x86_64-Build157.1-Media.iso / Updated Feb 23 2022
It features KDE 5.24.1 - not sure what version of GNOME but I will assume 41.3... do we think this may be stable, as Tumbleweed is a rolling release so probably more prone to breakage? (assumption).
Just curious whether it would be ok to start using as a daily driver on a non-critical computer? I backup all my important documents on a portable encrypted HDD -and the beta is only a few days away to being dropped.
Any feedback appreciated. I have experienced almost no issues with alpha previously when testing it out. I also assume Leap will be updated along the way to the production release from Alpha/Beta - and when that happens I will format and install the final build clean.
Since I require kernel 5.14.xx at the minimum for my laptop, I cant go to Leap 15.3. I also dont want to get too far ahead with GNOME/KDE using Tumbleweed only to have to get used to new features and drop them when I move to leap upon release. (I honestly dont want to stick with Tumbleweed. I just want a stable LTS type distro that works and love openSUSE for all situations).
