I’ve already completed the Google DA certificate and I really liked it. From what I’ve read on here, SQL is a great first tool to understand at an intermediate level for a DA position.

I’ve been looking at more courses and certifications to bolster my knowledge and resume. The Oracle SQL certificate has been standing out to me so….

Has anyone completed it? Was it helpful in terms of knowledge? Did it help you in your career (promotion or new position)?

Not sure if anyone is able to help me. I am planning on taking the Oracle Certification exam for SQL (IZ0-071, Oracle Database SQL Associate). Hello guys. I just finished an SQL lesson from udemy and im practicing with freeCodeCamp's Relational Database course (it provides a certification but is currently under maintenance). My goal is to learn skills as an application/web developer and have some proof of my knowledge. I've made some projects in the past but currently I just want to learn without creating a full application because of time restrictions. Does anyone have gained Oracle Database SQL Associate Credential? Is it worth the money spent on it and what is the whole process of learning and giving an exam? Should I just keep learning from udemy classes?

Hello everyone! I'm currently on my last semester of college studying mathematics, but my interest lies heavily in data analysis and database management. I'm currently working as an IT applications intern and work heavily in Oracle to extract data and help manage the database and perform some analysis.

My question for you all is if it is worth getting an Oracle SQL Certification (or similar certification from MS Azure or another company) given that my major is not associated to IT or data management. It's a ~$200 certification and I want to know if this is a good resume piece with some return on the investment, or is an internship experience sufficient enough to have the same function as the certification?

I appreciate any and all tips and help!

So I don't have work experience and want to put something on the CV when applying for entry level business analyst roles that shows I know SQL, looking for certifications that are actually valued because I think Coursera ones don't look that good on the cv to be honest. I know people say experience is worth more than certifications but I don't have any experience in SQL at all.

• I just came across oracle giving out free certifications in their courses up until november or so if you complete them. I am fairly new to databases, my only approach to them was a college class using microsofts access a few years ago. I want to add sql to my skills so what cert do you guys recommend in terms of learning about sql and databases?

Hi guys, I'll just jump into the question. I want to do the Oracle Database SQL | 1Z0-071 training and exam. Can I buy it a single certification or must I buy it as a package that comes with the Learning Subscription package?

I took the complete Oracle SQL certification course on Udemy, got through the material no problem. The practice questions were fairly easy, and I also bought a few practice exams just to make sure I felt comfortable.

I just took the certification exam this morning and unfortunately failed, but the exam felt like a completely different world. Asking for tons of tiny details and advanced material never covered in the course or questions.

Is it supposed to be that tough? Any possibility they gave me the wrong exam? I'm not sure how to prepare for it when all the material designed to prepare for it seemed inadequate

Edit: exam was done online due to Covid. I asked them to verify the exam but they said they couldn't do that

Passing Oracle 1z0-071 exam (SQL)

I am actually feeling so frustrated. I am a data analyst and it is my first time with SQL. I decided last year August to study it and take this exam. I was so confident so I also immediately bought an exam attempt. Thought i could be ready in 3 months...then it become 5...and now nearing 6 months. I have gone through the materials several times and lately been taking dumps but highest i got was just 58%. Questions were sooo tricky and one would need to memorize almost everything. Since my exam atrempt will expire next month, i surrender and will just take it anyway. Has the real exam changed so that at least takers could have higher chances of passing? Lol

So for a little background, I decided to switch careers because I hated mine and have always been involved in IT/a nerd. I was in customer service/sales jobs which was awful. I don't have a degree. Anyway, I was going to go the networking route because most networking jobs(At least entry level) are go get cert>go get job with cert. It's what I did now, I'm in help desk making like 50k. The more I learn the more I think I'd like going a DBA route vs networking, and it happens to pay more.

That being said, having certs mean something is a huge advantage for me since no degree. Plus the cert is a good foundation at least for learning the material. There's a good chance at my current job I can get some hands on DB experience eventually too. I was looking into the oracle(OCP 19c) vs microsoft(Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) certs for DBA roles. What're your guys overall thoughts on which cert would be more worthwhile given my situation? Or are they pretty interchangeable?

I’m 21 years old and currently in my 1st year of B.Tech. I’m interested in becoming an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) and want to know how to get certified. I have a few questions:

1. Am I eligible to take the Oracle DBA certification exams?

2. Is there any oral test, or are all exams written/computer-based?

3. How much does the certification exam cost?

4. Does the certification have an expiry date?

5. What’s the general process to prepare for and pass the certification (OCA/OCP)?

I'm looking for something to study and work towards. Something could give me a leg up in the professional world as a data analyst in a year or so. Are certifications worth it? Do you have suggestions of ones to look into?

Hey guys. Im new to sql and I am starting next week at a new company. By the end of the month I should be able to pass the oracle certification for the 1z0-071 exam. I am looking for some courses or any kind of material to help me learn more. So far all i can find on the internet are regarding mysql. I would appreciate any and all suggestions or tips for the exam.

My local technical college has one course that is geared towards passing the SQL Fundamentals I. I did well in that course, but found when taking practice tests afterwards (Kaplan), that my knowledge was around 50% instead of the 75-100% I would hope for.

So -- I have been studying with Joan Casteel's 'Oracle 11g SQL' book, and taking practice exams to identify my weaknesses.

I am making progress, but I have heard of people failing this test after years of working with Oracle professionally.

I expect to prepare for the Administration exam with books, online resources, and a virtual machine.

Am I being utterly audacious?

I'm having a hard time finding specific books that would help me on my journey to certification. I have found that Oracle's Database Administrator Certified Associate to be a good stepping stone. Any recommendations as what books or resources i can use?
