It's going to be difficult to find 100% cotton leggings. Cotton jersey knit does have some stretch, but not a lot of "bounce back" (recovery), which is what spandex provides and what keeps them from immediately becoming baggy in the knees, butt, and other points of heavy stretch. Looser-fitting garments like sweatpants are likely to be easier to find in 100% cotton, but I don't have any specific recs. More on reddit.com

I’m not looking for anything that would be for the gym or sweat resistant or anything.
This is just for home and lounging around comfortably. I have a lot of plastic free pants, khakis, jeans, corduroys that are all 100% cotton however they’re not very comfortable compared to sweats. Can anyone recommend sweatpants that are 100% cotton, do they even exist?

Sooo I recently learned that the yoga pants & leggings I wear on a daily basis are littered with microplastics… womp womp. I am looking for recommendations for 100% cotton sweats & leggings. I’m okay with splurging a little too. Thank you in advance! :)

It's going to be difficult to find 100% cotton leggings. Cotton jersey knit does have some stretch, but not a lot of "bounce back" (recovery), which is what spandex provides and what keeps them from immediately becoming baggy in the knees, butt, and other points of heavy stretch. Looser-fitting garments like sweatpants are likely to be easier to find in 100% cotton, but I don't have any specific recs.

I'm a fan of King Athletics (Canadian company that makes plain cotton clothes, similar to Gildan), but they're like the fuzzy inside sweatpants. Great for cold winter days, but they're a bit too warm for real activewear. I made some leggings out of 95% bamboo 5% spandex before, as 100% cotton doesn't have the stretch or durability. Some things, you just can't do with cotton. For example, I have a disability where I often need compression socks and gloves, and those have to be synthetic to provide the correct compression without inhibiting my motion too much. The only other option I've seen is to use corsetry techniques and lacing a garment tight enough to provide the compression, but then it doesn't have the flexibility to adapt when I move so it ends up being more like a brace, which isn't usually what I need. In those cases, it's best to get a good quality synthetic that will last a long time. There are a lot of companies using recycled materials for activewear as well.
