I always buy mines from amazon (for my iphone), haven't been disappointed. I think otterbox tweaks their cases from time to time and that the ones on amazon are older revisions or something. I don't feel like I need one for my Ipad. More on reddit.com

Like most people, I've gone through all brands of phone cases. I found myself always gravitating towards Otterbox due to their drop protection. I can attest they work great in that respect. When i got my 14 PM, they came out with the Defender XT case which, for me, was the perfect case. It offered great drop protection however it wasn't as bulky as their previous Defender cases. Picked up my 16 PM and went with the Defender XT case again. This one, not a real big fan of just due to the cutout for the cameras button. Pretty half baked idea just cutting out a chunk of the case like they did. That said, gonna stick with it and hope they offer an updated case later on. Still really like the look of the Defender XT and works really well. Had thought about getting the Symmetry case as it's a bit thinner. We'll see though. I still think they make great cases. I own something close to that Amazon version and I always feel better when finger ring/tab breaks on my $12 case then on my $50 case More on reddit.com
