I thought about getting a clear case when I got the phone but I didn’t want to risk something happening to my phone that was brand new so I just figured spend the $40 for something that I know is gonna work. I do like how the clear cases look better though, but I also work in construction and I don’t usually have my phone on me at work but still rather be safe then sorry.

I’m not sure if this is where I need to ask this, but I have been looking between getting the 16 pro and pro max. I’ve used the same black Otterbox defender series cases since I first got an iPhone in 2011. New iPhone? New black defender series purchased same day. I was considering if my combo for iPhone protection still is the ones I should stick with. My screen protector is Bodyguardz. I work a desk job, but I’m accident prone and do drop my phone in parking lots/on stairs periodically not frequently (had one recently where I cracked my screen protector and dinged my case because I dropped my phone and it landed on the edge of a ceramic bowl.) We usually get a discount on our accessories through ATT so depending on price I may just buy through them again, but the same black case for years has me wondering what all has changed in the iPhone case world for people like me who finds new and intriguing ways to drop their phone.

I often see these two compared to the defender, but never each other.

Any thoughts on symmetry vs commuter? Best one for normal daily use? Do the port/speaker covers on the commuter help that much in terms of keeping out dirt and stuff (saw someone had a problem with a dirty case for the symmetry)?
