I went with the Lifeproof Fre specifically because Otterbox removed the screen protectors from the XR Defender cases. All my Iphones till now were in an OB Defender. I just really prefer the built in screen protectors to the tempered glass ones

We’ve done otter box defenders for 10-15 years.
Now they don’t provide screen protection, I am not up for paying $65 for a case then another 20-30 for screen protection.
Are there cases out there that still include this, is there something i am missing about why they dropped that feature?

Otterbox makes their own 'Alpha Glass' screen protector. I've had this set-up twice on my phones in combination with the Defender. Nice compatibility with their products and the quality of the tempered glass is great.
