For 50 ft strips id go for 24V ip67 strips. 24V because it minimizes voltage drop. IP67 because it’s permanently water resistant. I won’t recommend a supplier because I’ve never worked with outdoor strips. Because of the length, you‘d need to feed it power from both sides, so you’d want to have an additional 50ft cable to inject power at the end. Or you might even want to inject in multiple places. Here’s some wiring examples: Example 1 Example 2 Example 3 I can’t recommend you an actual strip, because I’ve never bought outdoor ones, but you won’t need to buy a 50 or 60 ft strip, you can buy multiple smaller ones and just wire them like in the diagrams. For the controller I’d go with the Gledpoto Pro controllers (the black ones) because they are the most up to date ones and they allow for the most amps. I have about 12 gledopto controllers in my home, so I can definitely recommend them. When purchasing the power supply, keep your power requirements in mind. Calculate the max draw (multiply the rating W/m with the length in meters) and purchase according to that and ideally in water resistant ratings. But do keep in mind that sometimes that number can become quite high, because of the property of RGB-LEDs. The color white when mixed through RGB LEDs draws 3 times as much power as one single color. So, If you want to have white light for your led strips, please get a RGBW (single color white) or RGBCCT (color control for two whites) strips. This not only gives you a better white tone, but draws less power so you wouldn’t need a power supply that can handle all 3 RGB channels at max at once. If you're talking about Neopixel style strips running ws2811 or ws2812b type LEDs, you can run strips as long as you want, but you're going to need to tie power in every couple of meters. The longest run I've installed was 126 feet of LEDs, and had to tie multiple 5v60amp power supplies into the strips as they went in order to avoid voltage loss. The other issue you'll run into with these strips is voltage loss due to strip length for the data line, and memory issues with the microcontroller running them. The data line voltage issues can be alleviated a bit by using DotSTAR (Adafruit brand, APA102 LEDs) which have a data and a clock line, but require two wires to your microcontroller of choice. If all you want is color, then I'd suggest sticking with a "dumb" RGBW analog LED strip that sets the color for the entire strip in one shot. Check out RGBGenie 's site. They have some pretty kickass stuff that I'm saving up for, including a new voltage/signal repeater for this type of LED strip. Daisy chain as many as you need to get as long a strip as you want. Just provide power and a controller. They have Zigbee (Hue compatible) and Z-Wave controllers, as well as in-wall line voltage powered RGBW control modules that have Zigbee or Z-Wave controller capabilities for managing your lights. u/RGBGenie can answer any questions you have.
