I also have this problem. It affects Safari and Firefox on my iPad mini, and Chrome on my Android phone.

When I log in to outlook (or profile.live.com) it just defaults to outlook.live.com without any option to change to desktop site.

This is very annoying, given how unusably terrible the mobile version is.

r/Outlook on Reddit: outlook.com on mobile - missing features, how to force desktop version?
August 28, 2022 -

Accessing outlook.com web on a mobile, it's showing a mobile-oriented UI with many or most features missing (aren't mobile-aware sites grand...). Trying to force Desktop mode from the browser doesn't really change anything, other than making the text smaller.

Is there a site-level way to force it to load the full-featured desktop UI?

Can we see the Mobile view in Oulook 365 in PC? (just like we do on MAC?) - Microsoft Q&A
As of now, Outlook 365 on PC does not have a specific "Mobile View" like you might find on a Mac. The layout and design of Outlook on a PC are optimized for desktop use and do not include a dedicated mobile version.

The desktop version is less usable on a phone screen but proves the account works. Switching back to mobile throws up the "Something went wrong" error. This is happening to everyone in our organization. We've tried both OUtlook.office.com and outlook.office365.com.

r/SamsungDex on Reddit: This is how you force Outlook to run in desktop mode in your web browser on Samsung Dex.
July 24, 2024 -

EDIT: I did testing with multiple browsers with and without the URL modification listed below. Here is a spreadsheet with the results:

Dex web browser Outlook comparison After doing those tests it seems that the only browser that actually benefits from the URL modification below is the Samsung internet browser.

PROBLEM: no matter what I tried, Microsoft Outlook always ran in mobile/phone mode when accessing through a web browser on Dex. I tried Samsung Internet, Chrome, Firefox, etc. I made sure that "Desktop SIte" was selected, I tried accessing through Microsoft 365 website. But it ALWAYS displayed in mobile mode.

SOLUTION: add "?layout=WideFullWidth" to the end of the url. Here are two links: For Outlook Live (personal accounts): https://outlook.live.com/mail/?layout=WideFullWidth For Outlook Office (work or school accounts): https://outlook.office.com/mail/?layout=WideFullWidth I added the Outlook link formatted like this to my Samsung Internet bookmarks bar and it works in Desktop mode every time.

I'm sharing this information to help the people of the future. I hope it helps!

Microsoft Outlook App - App Store
I am in love with the ability of end user to finally report phishing attempts and other emails for different categories on mobile and desktop finally! I wish we could setup and manage rules from mobile but perhaps that’s something coming in the future. Outlook still, despite the lack of a few minor things, sits atop the rest in my opinion, ease of use and operation is highly scoring for me and I believe this is something that should be advertised to the populous.

Hi, Taylor. Thank you for coming to the forum. My name is Femi. It is worth noting that this is a user community, and we are all users here, much like yourself. While we strive to assist and share insights, we are not Microsoft directly.

I understand you would love to install Office 365 on your Android device. I will do my best to provide you with a solution.

According to the article on, ( https://support.microsoft.com/office/cafe9d6f-8b0c-4b03-b20a-12438a82a22d ),;

"There are two ways to get Office on your Android phone or tablet:

You can install the new Office mobile app that combines Word, Excel, and PowerPoint into a single app and introduces new mobile-centric features to view, edit, and share files without the need to switch between multiple apps

Or you can install Office apps individually

(Note: If you're using Office 365 operated by 21Vianet, make sure you download the Office for Android apps from the local Android Store.)

Use the Office mobile apps to work from anywhere, just sign in with a free Microsoft Account or a Microsoft 365 work or school account. With a qualifying Microsoft 365 subscription, you'll have access to the app's extra features."

To download any of these apps, please visit the link mentioned above.

I hope this helps, let me know if this contradicts what you need. I remain helpful in answering any more of your questions.

Best Regards,

Femi.
