The first two images with the oversized hoods appear to be made with stable or woven fabrics. Neither of the first photos have a person in them, so the fit may be less flowy and relaxed than you think. The second image in the first group will not be flowy and relaxed, it looks like it's made from wool or thick outerwear fabric that is intended to look like wool. It will fit like a heavy wool coat and be a bit stiff. These fabrics do not stretch, so there has to be more ease, or room between the body and fabric, to allow for movement. The "traditional" hood look is made with knit fabrics so it is stretchy and can fit closer to the body and still give the wearer a good range of motion. If you are looking for a sewing pattern for the first two images, look for patterns for woven fabrics. You could probably widen the neckline, make a mockup and see how it works if you have a pattern already. :) More on reddit.com
