Howdy xfolk! XML contentperson here, s1000d since 2007, SGML way before that, various mil-stds for spice, and DITA stuff now with a fair amount spent working O2. Kinda need O2 for that. Of course, customers have every sort of different kind of toolkit/plugin/specialization combination, so, uh, that's ..... something. What's the impetus behind this sub getting spooled up today? Is this a vendor, a user, an integrator, a stranded manager? There's already an XML sub but it's pretty slow, and that's for allll XML, XSL, etc etc - not just one editor. More on reddit.com

August 29, 2022Does anyone know how to make a collapsible section using DITA?
What is your output format and what transformation scenario are you using? If you're using Oxygen's Webhelp transformation, sections with titles are automatically generated as collapsible. So in that case, just create a element with a title in your DITA topic, and the result is a collapsible section. I don't believe the same applies to the basic HTML5 transformation, so in that case you might need to do it with CSS/JavaScript. You can also ask the Oxygen crew at https://www.oxygenxml.com/forum/ . I'm sure they know the answer, and they respond very fast, in my experience. More on reddit.com

This is a well-known problem that libraries like Quill and Prosemirror solve by maintaining separate document and rendering trees. I'd recommend building off one of them rather than hand rolling because synchronizing the two efficiently while maintaining focus, selection, and cursor location is...tedious to say the least.
