I've done this configuration on my Ubuntu 20.04 machine, but now I want to create a docker image so that I can use my mac M1 to make the processing way faster (My Ubuntu machine is an old Pentium 4).

FROM ubuntu:20.04

RUN apt-get update
&& apt-get -y install curl
&& apt-get install -y openssh-server
&& apt-get install -y gcc-multilib \

I managed to install gcc-multilib but with a downgrade for some components. Don't know if it is a good solution but it worked.

My solution was to install gcc-5-multilib and press n when aptitude asked for the first time "Accept this solution?" and Y on the second time. Output:

sudo aptitude install gcc-5-multilib
...
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

      Keep the following packages at their current version:
1)      gcc-5-multilib [Not Installed]
2)      gcc-multilib [Not Installed]
3)      lib32gcc-5-dev [Not Installed]
4)      libx32asan2 [Not Installed]
5)      libx32cilkrts5 [Not Installed]
6)      libx32gcc-5-dev [Not Installed]
7)      libx32gcc1 [Not Installed]

9)      libx32ubsan0 [Not Installed]

      Leave the following dependencies unresolved:

The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

     Remove the following packages:
1)     gcc-6-base:i386

     Keep the following packages at their current version:
2)     gcc-multilib [Not Installed]

     Downgrade the following packages:
3)     gcc-6-base [6.3.0-18ubuntu2~16.04 (now) -> 6.0.1-0ubuntu1 (xenial)]

     Leave the following dependencies unresolved:
4)     libc6-dev-i386 recommends gcc-multilib

                Conflicts: gcc-5-aarch64-linux-gnu:i386 but it is not going to be installed.

March 31, 2014 - If I remove it and keep just the versioned packages (gcc-5-multilib, g++-5-multilib – or just the appropriate :i386 libraries), gcc/g++ still compile with both -m32 and -m64 just fine and cross-compilers can be installed too and pass a smoke-test. So this is an obvious workaround. gcc-multilib is not needed for anything, gcc-5-multilib (and g++/gobj/

[Software] Anyone here have any ideas on how to get gcc-multilib & g++-multilib support for aarch64 (64-bit ARM)? - Debian User Forums
Currently, Debian 10/11/12 has the gcc-multilib & g+±multilib packages, but you will notice that neither has support for aarch64 (64-bit ARM) architecture when clicking on their links https://packages.debian.org/bookworm/gcc-multilib https://packages.debian.org/bookworm/g++-multilib I have attempted to file the following bugs [1][2][3][4] to include these packages in Debian, but the Debian developers continue to close my bug submissions with no explanation other than “arm64 doesn’t have multilibs”. Arm64 would if these bugs were explored and resolved so that these packages would be available on this currently unsupported architecture.
