Is there a program I can use to mock up the exterior of my house with new paint color to see how it would look?
Painting the exterior of my home - DIY or hire?
You can definitely to it. Just do your research. Two most important things on a job like this, do good paint prep and rent a quality paint sprayer and scaffolding. If you're decently handy, you can knock it out in no time.

I’m looking into to repainting our brick, garage doors, siding etc. i want to see how the new exterior would look. Is there a program i can use that’s easy to learn quickly? I have no experience!
My home has reached the point where I need to focus my attention on exterior maintenance. I was looking into re-siding and replacing my fence. The fence I can afford, but siding is just out of my budget. A thought to get around this was to paint the current siding (wood and an unfortunate aluminum side). I live in a ranch in the Chicagoland area, with gabled ends (2 sides of the house have walls that are only 8 feet tall, but the ends are probably 20-25).
I want to save as much as possible, but is this a project I am better off contracting out, or is it possible to DIY without a ton of hassle?

We painted our house last fall...aside from being somewhat time consuming it was really simple.
Do the leg work up front and do a good job cleaning the exterior. It makes everything nicer in the end. Our siding is wood is 90% of that is grooved cedar shakes, we ended up painting the whole things with brushes. Only took me a day before I wished I had bought a sprayer.
Best advice I can give you is trick invite your friends to come help with promises of beer and barbecue. If they're anything like mine it'll get done in no time.
