January 22, 2025Thoughts on Palliser reclining furniture?
Don't do a vinyl match. The leather vs the vinyl don't age similarly. Especially if you have them in the sun, within a couple years they'll be different colours. Palliser has the Dillon fabrics that do have a look and feel of leather but are a high performance vinyl that has an incredible rub count. However, nothing matches leather as it'll always age better than a man-made fabric - regardless of what some sales person will tell you. I cannot say definitively that the Dillon fabric will peel similar to bonded leather, but I highly suspect it will start to peel once pierced. If you have any other Palliser questions I'd be happy to answer. I used to sell, deliver and service it for over a decade and have some limited experience with the Zero-G chairs. More on reddit.com

Have you had chance to sit on them? I went to the furniture store intending to buy something I had seen online but wanted to sit on first. It was really mediocre for comfort. We ended up with a Palliser because it was so comfortable. I don’t think I’ve tried a Southern Motion. More on reddit.com

6 or 7 years ago we purchased a Palliser recliner / glider. I can’t recall the exact price but in the $1300 plus tax range. We thought we were investing in a chair that would last for a couple decades. Most gliders / recliners from big box stores at the time were less than half the price.
Turns out not only has this happened to us, but it’s happening to a ton of purchasers that bought Palliser furniture. I know of one other person who bought one a year before us…and their situation is even worse. Our local retailer has said they’ve pretty much stopped selling Palliser because of so many customer complaints.
The Palliser website and brand is all about quality. But just be careful. They don’t seem to be holding up like advertised. Their leather warranty is 5 years. The peeling seems to start immediately after the warranty is over.
I contacted them and I’m essentially SOL.

October 13, 2009 - The only remedy Palliser has offered is sending us new material for the sofa. Several problems with their solution: we have to pay for the reupholstering; the fabric on ours is no longer available so whatever we pick won’t match the loveseat and recliner; and the probability is high that the fabric on the other pieces won’t last very long either. We certainly expected this furniture to last longer than two years considering it was supposed to be high quality.
