You're supposed to treat the leather every 6 months no matter how high the quality the leather is. It's going to dry out and crack, it's innevitable. You clean and treat you shoes when they need it, right? Why not your couch? Don't blame the manufacturer. This is unequivably due to lack of care. More on reddit.com

Bought Made in Canada Palliser Marymount leather sofa and loveseat 8 years ago. It's out of warranty after 5 years. This cracking then peeling off started right after warranty expired. Paid $3000 for the set. Was supposed to be good quality leather. I don't care how good or not good the leather quality is, a sofa should not crumble apart after 5 years. Looks like a cheap fake leather sofa you'd buy from a discount cheap imports store. NEVER AGAIN. So much for "Made in Canada" 🙄
