You will likely be surrounded by people wearing leggings, track pants, jeans, sneakers, shower slides, slip on mules that look like slippers, baggy cargo pants, shorts, teeshirts, and so on. The best dressed person is likely going to be wearing slacks/trousers and a sweater. I would strongly urge you to reconsider here. A good suit is $500- $1000 or so, and cheaper suits will not just look out of place, they'll look cheap and you won't get the style/look you want from them. You could scour Macy's and Ann Taylor's suiting sale section or Banana Republic, but again, a suit to a tech job in the USA is a faux pas, pretty much. Even Ann Taylor is going to cost about $300 and that's on sale. There is no "cheap suits" other than secondhand. The use of the word "wheatish" to describe your skintone makes me think you're Indian and come from a culture that's much, much more formal and strict when it comes to dress for the office. If this is your first USA job or first "real" job, you're in for culture shock when you see people in rumpled scrub pants or sweatshirts coding along in cubes and whatnot. I'd suggest a smart pair of neutral slacks, and a button front shirt. Bring a blazer that coordinates but is not a suit, and have that ready in the 1/100 chance this place is highly formal. Wear knee high sheers and loafers or ballet flats and keep the jewelry simple and minimal. But don't invest in a full pantsuit unless you're their in-house lawyer or something. More on reddit.com

If you want it to last then you want a fully canvassed suit from Savile Row or Italy, same as mens suits. You want buttons made of horn or corozo. Lining made of Bemberg or Cupro. Hand stitching on the lapel. Lining inside the pants to the thigh. A suit made this way can be worn a lot as in 50-75 times a year for 10+ years. These are the signs of good suit. Reddit is a bad place to ask about suits. People will give you recommendations from low quality companies and say they are good.
