r/Bedding on Reddit: Parachute Linen Sheets *info*
March 23, 2024 -

I love that there’s a community out there that feels passionately about a cozy bed ❤️

This is my experience with Parachute, specifically their linen sheets, for anyone that comes to this sub looking for info!

I bought a linen fitted sheet and flat sheet in the seasonal color ochre from Parachute in June of 2023 while they were on clearance, I think I ended up spending about 180$ on them. That was insane to me as someone who’d just slept on microfiber and really old cotton sheets, but I’d been looking into linen bedding for awhile, had some friends that liked parachute, and wanted to up my bedding game.

I wash my sheets on warm/delicate, tumble dry low, every week. I occasionally sub out for one of my other cheap sheet sets if I feel like it but I end up using my linen sheets about 85% of the time. It’s me and my husband sleeping in them, no animals. I have experienced quite a LOT of shedding from them, like every time I would dry them and clean out dryer lint there would be a whole little blanket of yellow that had accumulated. I was a little concerned about that but it seemed like it was fairly common with linen sheets 🤷‍♀️

About a week ago I discovered a small (1.5 inch long) worn spot on the top sheet in a random spot. A couple of the threads were snapped and it was essentially the beginning of a small hole/rip, but having sewn a lot with linen I know how badly it frays and figured my small problem would become large very fast. So that was approximately 9 months after I bought them. I was always planning on patching up the sheets whenever they developed holes and eventually using them to make clothes whenever I wanted to retire them as sheets, but I honestly figured I’d be using them for years and years before that would happen.

I immediately went to the Parachute website and looked for warranty information, but I couldn’t find anything referencing a warranty for their sheets. Before I wrote a scathing review I figured I’d send them an email asking about a warranty. I explained my problem and definitely let some of my frustration show in the email because I was totally expecting them to just say “oh what a bummer, nothing we can do.” To my surprise about 2 days later I got a polite email back with a product survey for me to fill out; I did and also sent them pictures of the damaged sheet. They immediately replied back saying that although the ochre color was out of stock (seasonal), they could replace my top sheet with any of the other colors I wanted, or send me an ochre colored sheet in their brushed cotton fabric. I responded that I wanted an ‘evergreen’ color sheet and they immediately sent it! They also did not ask for me to send my old sheet back in, so I still get to patch it and keep using it or I could go ahead and make clothes out of it.

I have definitely read other reviews complaining about product durability, and I have read some reviews of people that have had their products for years with no problems. This was my experience with parachute; I was really pleased with their customer service and responsiveness, less pleased with their product durability. Honestly next time I do actually buy some linen sheets I’ll probably be trying a different brand to see if they hold up better, but I’m happy that I get to continue to use these ones. Also, after using these Parachute sheets for nine months they are UNBELIEVABLY soft and comfortable. Hopefully this helps you make your decision about buying from them!

I’m glad you’re happy but this is literally their business model: advertise insanely heavily on social media, sell $50 sheets for 4-5x that to people who have never slept on anything higher quality than Walmart or target bedding and don’t know any better, then when the products fall apart in a year or two hope most customers don’t mind and give free replacements to the ones who do, impressing them with your “wonderful customer service” and earning their repeat business for your overpriced products. Of course those customers could have spent a similar amount with a company that doesn’t devote 40% of revenue to marketing and gotten sheets which wouldn’t need to be replaced after a year or two, but they don’t know that. And who cares! Sorry, I don’t mean to be hard on you. But we see a lot of stories in here identical to yours, where people who have “finally sprung for high quality sheets” with one of the instagram companies have found the products to rapidly deteriorate but are satisfied because the company replaced it. And to me that kind of consumption, where you just use stuff for a year or two, throw it away, then buy a new one is not one to embrace. We see the same thing with fast fashion- everybody loves cheap, trendy clothes, but fast fashion has been a disaster for the labor force who makes the clothes, a disaster for the environment, and honestly terrible for consumers as well, who end up spending more money over time replacing cheap products over and over than they would have if they bought just a few things, but ones made with decent quality materials and real craftsmanship, such that they last for the long term. So it’s upsetting seeing that all these companies (parachute is just one offender, there are a bunch more) have basically introduced that fast fashion model to home textiles. It was better for everyone when things were made to last!

I bought a linen sheet set from Parachute in 2018 and another linen set from Amazon (Merryfeel?) at the same time to compare. The Merryfeel was much less expensive, but reviews were good, so I chose them as my budget pick. These 2 sets have been alternating weekly, year round, on my bed since then. First the Amazon set. I just had to throw away the fitted sheet today, 6+ years later, because of a wear out tear that was just too big to deal with anymore. They arrived decently soft and very sleepable after 1 wash. Probably perfect after 3-4. I went to order another fitted sheet today but they had pretty low inventory and nothing that works for me. I’m hoping they aren’t out of business. My Parachute set arrived pretty well broken in and because of the almost instant soft comfort were my initial favorite. The stitching was great and the fabric was slightly thicker than the budget set, but not in a thick/heavy way, just a quality way and I’m guessing that is why there are no holes or tears in this one so far. Both have served me well. Very comfortable, cooling, soft and long lasting. The break-in period for Parachute was barely 1 wash and not really much longer for the budget set. Once they both were broken in, there wasn’t much difference in how they felt to lay on. Parachute has the edge on arriving soft enough to be ready to go, the perfect thickness/heft and longevity. I have no complaints other than they are definitely more expensive and it’s hard to find a sale or promo code on them. The Merryfeel from Amazon was less than half the price, broke in quickly & lasted a long time. The fabric was on the thiner side, translucent if you held it up to light, but I have no complaints about either one. I’ve tried some other cheap, no name linen brands for clothing and a couple duvet covers. Some eventually soften up with washing and wear. With some, no amount of wear or baking soda soaks will soften that scratchy cardboard! Read the reviews if you want to save $ and be prepared to deal with a bit of a break-in period to get them perfect.

r/Bedding on Reddit: DO NOT BUY PARACHUTE LINEN BEDSHEETS!
August 20, 2025 -

I paid $600 for Parachute’s linen sheet set in 2024, expecting premium quality. I’m a hot sleeper, so breathability and softness were my priorities, and at first, it seemed like the sheets delivered. I followed every single washing instruction to the letter, never mixed them with other laundry, and took perfect care of them.

Then the problems started. Not just after years of use, but within the first year. The sheets constantly shed little balls of linen that ended up all over the floor under my bed. At first, I thought this was “normal” wear after a couple washes, but no, it never stopped. And now, barely a year later, I woke up to find the fitted sheet completely ripped, literally falling apart in my hands.

When I reached out to Parachute support, their response was essentially: too bad. I was told I was 15 days past the warranty, so they wouldn’t do anything. Let me get this straight: $600 sheets disintegrate in a year, and the company hides behind a technicality instead of standing behind their so-called “premium” product? That’s laughable.

Parachute markets themselves as luxury, but what you actually get is overpriced, low-quality bedding that doesn’t even last a year. The fact that customer service shrugged it off says everything about the brand, they care about your money, not your experience.

Save yourself the money and frustration. I’ll never buy from Parachute again, and I’d warn anyone considering it: these sheets are a total scam. I have so many more photos of this whole sheet just falling apart, if you want them DM me.

UPDATE(it's the next day)- p.s. fight their customer service a little- I asked for their manager, he said sorry and sent me a new fitted sheet after some back and forth. I also might’ve linked the Reddit post I made…
