Can people weigh in on this, my father-in-law got this in the mail. Apparently my wife got a parking ticket 14 years ago when she was younger (which wouldn’t surprise me at all) and the car was registered under his name. Now the city of Denver has all of a sudden decided to go after him for $70 through a collections agency… looking up the citation number on the actual Denver parking violations website, nothing shows up. neither does searching by the license plate. Additionally, the address on the actual website is different from the address to pay on this notice. The notice says pay to “ Denver parking violation bureau” and the actual website says to pay “parking violation bureau”. Has scam written all over it in my opinion.
The strange thing about it is, the vehicle is correct and the location of the ticket does actually kind of make sense based on where she lived at the time. we have no idea if that was the actual license plate number as it was 14 years ago…
I’m telling him to ignore it and tell them to pound sand. Trying to collect $70 after 14 years out of the blue is rediclous right? But he’s convinced it’s legit and “whatever” it’s $70, and would rather just pay it the deal with the collection effort.
