What's the beef Steve Schirripa has with Pat Cooper? And for that matter, DeNiro?
This was during the absolute monster height of the Sopranos. The year was 2002. He was a family friend of my friend’s family, and arrived with his family in a limo. I never met him before, nor did most of my friends including my very heavyset friend (we were 13 at the time), and Steve could NOT have been nicer, friendlier, or more like he is on Talking Sopranos. He put his arm around my friend and said something to the effect of “Us fat boys gotta stick together!”, which my friend loved, and he even let us, a bunch of 13 year old idiots, take his limo out! He told his driver to take us wherever we wanted, and said the limo was ours for the night. Keep in mind, this is pre cell phones for everyone, and no GPS on phones. We only took it a few miles away and then back (we didn’t want to be like Father Shnerrer and spend the night when he’s taking his daughter to look at schools) and he said “You should’ve had it all night! Go to a strip club!” The guy is a class act, and just a good dude. Anyone who bitches about him on Talking Sopranos is a fuckin clown. Steve is the man.
Was he even real OP?
Tbh, he strikes me as someone who’d be fun to hang around. He seems like a generally nice and giving guy. He just fucking sucks on the podcast.
The target audience for something called, “Talking Sopranos,” is obviously a buncha fuckin nerds like us who geek out about the show and all the symbolatry. That he gets so pissy about that aspect of the show is ridiculous.
Big fan of the show. Lost track of how many times I've watched this thing of ours. I read and contribute to this sub. I'll never watch that abomination of a prequel.
I've finally decided to go through 'Talking Sopranos'. Lots of inside information and details about the show and our leader, Jim. It's been addicting, a fresh take on the progrum. Imperioli is fantastic. He is insightful, intelligent and humorous.
I'm currently on episode 61 of the podcast. Listening to Steve Schirripa is becoming nauseating. I don't know if I can get through this. Why did Imperioli go with him for this project? Johnny V would have been a great partner for this.
I almost feel bad for Michael at times, having to banter with this fool. Fuck him, he deserved to get duped by Janice. He's a chump. Fake tough guy, know it all, fat fuck.
I'll take Pat Cooper any day.
Seems like some of you don’t want him our social club no more
Just started listening to Talking Sopranos and Steve casually refers to DeNiro as an “asswipe.” What do you think that’s all about?
