I got made fun of by the crew for wearing a fleece and puffy made by them, but after 5 years where they’re all on hoody number 8 I’m still rocking the original (used when I bought it) Patagonia shit. Haven’t delved into their new “work” line of stuff, but been using their outdoors stuff for years and years, never disappointed. If Carhartt can’t figure out how to sell a pair of pants for less than $85 that doesn’t even last a year, I’ll have to take a serious look at them though. More on reddit.com

Something I just learned made me love my Patagonia work pants even more! If you take your used (Patagonia) work pants to one of their stores they will either repair them for free or take them to recycle and give you a store credit for them. My old pair had black death stains on them (acoustic sealant) and were thoroughly used but they didn’t care. The new pair cost me ~$105 CAD after tax, the old pair got me $100 store credit, so $5 for a brand new pair of work pants!
Learning about textile recycling has been eye opening as well, never again will I throw out clothing.
