It looks like there are lots of people affected by this. In Poland, PayPal had a contract with BlueMedia company to handle immediate account charging. It looks like they changed the company to Trustly, which does not use bank-specific API to generate a transfer, but just accesses the account by using your login and password. I'm sorry, but everyone, who has at least little knowledge about security, knows this is violating one of the golden rules of security - your login and password is yours and should stay yours. UPDATE: so there's this option on the mobile Paypal app, where you can do Live Chat option to talk to someone without logging in. I did that and they transferred me to the limitation department and helped me recovered my account. It seems the hacker changed the email so I couldn't reset it. They also changed the phone number and set up 2 Factor Authorization making it hard for me to recover. ( this flaw in the process by a big company like PayPal makes me cringe ) So set up your 2-Factor login if you haven't to avoid this headache! More on reddit.com
