hi all, not It is not my first time that I try to overclock, despite this I wanted to know if the values set in the Bíos are correct both from the technical point of view and from the point of view of the longevity of the processor as I would never damate it.
I activated the Precision Boost overdrive from the bios (ADVANCED) and then I set the PBO limit on the motherboard as I don't know why but I have a much higher performance than disabling it or setting it manually. Max cpu boost clock override (+ 200mhz) and finally I set “curve optimizer” on all cores (negative -10). on cinebench r 20 in multicore I get 4600 points in single core I get 590 points (never exceeding the temperature of 75 degrees) on cpu z I get 662 points in single core and in multi core I get 4674 points. is a VCORE of 1.35 which sometimes rises to 1.4. WHAT DO YOU THINK ? Cpu:Specs: ryzen 5 5600x Mobo:B550 tomahawk Ram :2x8 ram 3600 mhz Gpu :Rx6800xt Cooler ; artic liquid freezer aio

I have tried all possible bios and Ryzen Master settings. I tried to set everything via PBO in AMD OC section, I tried it only via AI tweaker (but there is no AMD curve optimizer), I tried different combinations of these settings.
The problem is that in CPU-Z on my build with PBO+200+AMD Curve active I can barely get to 5000b at 4550MHz clock, above that it just doesn't boost. By some combination of PBO settings from AMD OC and AI tweaker I managed to get 4700MHz for the CPU-Z benchmark, but the score was 4600 points, still significantly lower.
Here are my settings:
PBO - Advanced
PBO Limits - Motherboard, also tried to set manually
PBO Scalar - Auto, 1x,2x,3x no difference
Curve Optimizer - per core, -25,-25,-25,-20,-15-15
Max Boost Clock Override - 200 MHz
Thermal Throttle Limit - Auto
I also tried resetting BIOS and setting PBO values only in AMD OC section, no positive result.
Do you have any ideas? I am currently trying the latest Version 4203 Beta BIOS for my ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS.

Hi all! I managed to tune my 5600x with curve optimizer (tested with corecycler and BF2042, not rock solid but for the past week it has been stable). My settings:
-
Limit: Motherboard and 1X on Scalar
-
+150MHz
-
Voltage offset (negative): 30/25/25/25/30/30
I score ~12100 on CB23. What can i do to futher optimize my curve? I tried even setting manual limit and i didn't see an actual difference in CB23 score (in my case CB23 fluctuate a lot).
Edit: i wrote that i'm not sure if it's rock solid or not because i haven't tested it overnight. I've done some research but i've found contrasting Infos. Some say to leave motherboard limits, some say to play with limits but i'm not sure what i'm looking for. Some say that curve over boost perform better, some say to start with +200MHz and find the best curve After that.
Hello guys,
I've just entered the world of undervolting and overclocking and I wanted to ask you for help.
As for now, i set -30 in curve optimizer for every single core. Test done with Ryzen master. I’ve also been trying my machine for a few days and it seems stable. (I’m testing the pc I’ve also read that setting all my cores to -30 may lead to silent performance lose. What should I do? Setting them to -25?
As for PBO, i don’t really know what values to put. Tried 105-60-120, +200mhz and PBO scalar set to 1x and reached 11400ish on cinebench (compared to the 10600ish reached with manual oc) but I’m not really sure of the temps and performance.
Also I have the Thermalright assassin x 120 SE as a cooler.
Thank you in advance guys!
Oi pessoal, quero otimizar meu Ryzen 5 5600 para ter a melhor relação entre desempenho e consumo de energia. Estou procurando um "ponto ideal" que maximize os FPS nos games sem aumentar demais a temperatura. Minhas Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 5600 GPU: ASUS Dual RTX 2060 6GB OC MOBO: Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2 Cooler: Cooler a ar (130W TDP) RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) Corsair Vengeance RGB @ 3600MHz CL16 (OC de CL18) PSU: MSI 650W Atualmente estou considerando PBO + Curve Optimizer.
After trying to manually overclock my 5600X and being disappointed (I ended up with 4.65 GHz @ 1.275 V—virtually no gain in ST performance), I decided to try using Auto OC and the curve optimizer after seeing other people doing it.
I was able to reach 4.85 GHz single-core boost and 4.60 GHz multicore boost in Cinebench R23 (this varies by workload—GB5 has 4.82 GHz single-core boost). The Geekbench ST score increased from 1635 to 1710 (4.6%) and the MT performance is very similar, perhaps slightly higher. This is all with similar (maybe very slightly higher) load voltages and temperatures. The idle voltage is lower (now 0.94 V from 1.0 V) and the idle temperature is about the same (30–31°C). Not exactly an amazing result, but I'll take it.

Here are my settings:
-
PBO - Advanced
-
PBO Limits - Motherboard (PPT 500 W, TDC 200 A, EDC 220 A)
-
PBO Scalar - 1X
-
Curve Optimizer - negative 15 (all cores)
-
Max Boost Clock Override - 200 MHz
-
Thermal Throttle Limit - 90°C (I've never actually reached 90, even with the default 95)
Some more information about my system:
-
Motherboard: MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk
-
CPU Cooler: Scythe Fuma 2
-
FIT voltage: around 1.27–1.29 V
In the BIOS for my motherboard (MSI), the curve optimizer was found in the AMD Overclocking menu in Settings, not OC.
Ryzen 5600x, MSI x570 Tomahawk, 32gb Gskill TridentZ Neo 3600 C16, Kraken X62.
Overclocking done trough bios, MSI Beta version that has curve optimizer.
Load Defaults Ram XMP 1 3600 CL 16 Settings> Advanced > AMD Overclocking > PBO Set: PBO - Advanced PBO Limits - Motherboard PBO Scalar - 4X Curve Optimizer - negative 5, 10, 5, 15, 15, 15(per core) Max Boost Clock Override - 0MHz (leave it at 0) Thermal Throttle Limit - 90°C
Then go from SETTINGS to OC Overclocking>PBO And reenter values: Except this time: Max Boost Clock Override - 300MHz
Exit, go to vcore and set from auto to AMD Overclocking, which will take values you setup in curve optimizer.
Final product is nice and cool 5ghz Ryzen 5600x. Tested Prime, Cinebench, games like Warzone and Star Citizen (which keeps CPU usage around 60% and 5ghz scramble from core to core)
Benefit of this is all most none, (maybe single core perf.) except now you have 5ghz 5600x to brag on about on reddit. All score were higher when manual clock is used for 4850mhz.

What does negative 15 curve optimizer mean?
Using ASUS X570 TUF Gaming Plus Wifi, 16GB Crucial 3600 CL16 and Scythe Fuma 2 Cooler
Settings below with Curve Optimizer set to All Cores Negative 20. Prime Stable for 1 hour at least (will run overnight)
Cinebench R20:
MC - 4774
SC - 627
Cinebench R23:
MC - 12260
SC - 1611
CPU-Z Bench:
MC - 5329
SC - 666
Temps: 26c idle 80c max running prime95. Considerably cooler running games. (Mid to upper 50s)
Feedback and/or recommendations welcomed. Very green to AMD so I'm been reading and following recommendations of others so far and working out well. Gaming performance doesn't seem all that impacted for me based on this overclock but I've also only been playing one game right now (Shadow of War) and at 1440p the CPU doesn't appear to be a bottleneck for the 1080 ti.
Not trying to set any records, just want to optimize my media/gaming PC and use it for the next 5 years. Found this video from Optimum Tech at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfkrp25dpQ0 which suggests turning on PBO2 and set Curve Optimizer, All Core to -30 (Max) for 5600X.
I have a 5600X and ASUS B550F-Wifi on 1401 BIOS (should have AGESA 1.1.8.0) with DOCP/XMP turned on for my RAM which was a 'set and forget' decision. Noticed that AMD overclocking is behind a click accept on some warranty warning which got me thinking: What is an accepted way to test for stability? Cinebench for a few hours? Prime95? Blender Benchmark on CPU mode?
This is my first AMD build ever, and have not built a desktop for half a decade so I am out of date. I recall maybe a year or so ago hearing about warnings not to use Furmark (or was it AIDA64?) which could damage your CPU.
Hi i got a new 5600 yesterday and completly stock it boosts to 4450mhz all cores playing and in cinebench. It drains 1.18mv (monitored on hwinfo). In cinebench R20 it does 4337 points. Temps are really great. I was thinking about trying pbo, though never used that before. Can you give me any start point values? Thanks! I use IDcooling SE214-XT!
