can someone give me a legit source to get the PBO2 TUNER i saw settings for 5800x3d that i really liked. but my motherboard made the PBO dissapear after installing the cpu. lemme know what you think of the settings
PPT LIMIT 100
TDC LIMIT 70
EDC LIMIT 100
and then curve optimizer -30 all cores
Hey everyone, since summer started, my CPU, an r7 5700x3d, started getting really hot. Unfortunately, my motherboard is kinda old, so it doesn't have PBO for my processor. I was looking around and found the pbo2 tuner program, which has worked for a lot of people. The problem is that lately, Windows Defender is flagging the program's driver as malicious and won't let me take it out of quarantine, even after excluding the folder, etc. I hope someone can help me out with this because I've tried everything, and the program runs, but it doesn't change the voltages.

Hey yall. Quick question: where can I get this famous PBO2 Tuner? I've found a link on overclock.net, but the link is dead (drive says it's in the owner's bin). That post was from April. I've found anoher version from January, but I really want to use the latest build for my 5800X3D. Thanks!
Downloaded and trying to open as administrator but the program just wont open. Anybody had this issue before?
Pretty much the title. I went to the GitHub page to try to download but after following the link, it says that the user no longer has it in the drive. Found another link that’s also takes me to the drive but when I try to download it, it just downloads as a internet explorer file and doesn’t open anything (not even sure if that was safe or not but i got it from overclock forum)
While browsing r/overclocking yesterday, I came across a pretty useful program for undervolting an AMD system on a restrictive BIOS. More specifically, this program allows for negative core offsets to be applied on startup via Task Scheduler in Windows. No need to do it manually or activate a profile in Ryzen Master on every startup or reboot.
I hadn't seen it mentioned on here yet, so I figured it could be helpful to my fellow Omen users.
Here is the guide
This guide is made for a 5800X3D, but I think it should work fine on any other Zen3 chips. I have a 5800X and it's woring as intended.
I will say this, to make things easier, I didn't follow the guide exactly. Instead of setting the same negative offset for every core, and stress testing to check for stability, I simply ran the curve optimizer on the 'per core' setting with Ryzen Master. It takes a little over an hour for Ryzen Master to run the per core optimizer, but when it's finished it gives you the specific offset values for each core, and you can just copy those directly into the PBO2 tuning tool.
From that point just apply the settings and follow the guide to set things up in Task Scheduler. I didn't bother with the final step either. If you wanna double check that the settings are applying on startup, you can always just fire up Ryzen Master and check from there.
I have a 45L, which does a really good job with cooling at stock, so the results on my end were pretty marginal. Knocked about 4C off my CPU temps, but I was already maxing out in the low 70's with some of the more intensive games.
If you're in one of the smaller rigs, this may be even more beneficial, as the further you can get way from the really high temps, the better the cpu can perform overall.
I have an AMD Ryzen 5800X3D CPU plugged into an ASUS X470 Prime-Pro motherboard, and the BIOS will not allow me to set curve optimizer to -30 on all cores, which is what I've been using forever on PBO2 Tuner, until Windows Defender recently decided that I shouldn't be using that program anymore.
When it was first flagged a couple of weeks ago, I simply added an exception and was on my way, albeit taking the risk of something bad happening, but a risk I was willing to take as I can't play many games without my CPU overheating if I don't have PBO2 Tuner running.
Yesterday, Windows Defender again decided to disable PBO2 Tuner and quarantine what it doesn't like which means I am now screwed and cannot use PBO2 Tuner at all, and Windows Defender will no longer allow me to make an exception to run it.
Is there anything I can do? My BIOS won't allow me to make the same settings and I do not have a clue how Ryzen Master works as far as inputting the same curve settings that I've been using with the very user-friendly UI in PBO2 Tuner.
Can anyone help me with this? Either getting Windows Defender to cooperate and let me continue to risk it, or to use another app that can accomplish the same thing?
Thanks!
I have usted this program for years, and now suddenly it's being detected as a virus. I really need to use it since it tames My 5800x3d temps really good. Are there any software alternatives?
So, i have a problem.
I recently upgraded my old i7-5820K to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D. (Great CPU, the performance gains in some of my games are crazy, especially all the lows.)
My GTX 1080 is also undervolted, so i looked into undervolting the CPU too. Quickly i became aware of PBO2 Tuner and found the undervolting guide on Github.
I set PBO2 Tuner to -20 on all cores and noticed that my voltage, temps and power comsumption are higher than without PBO2. The same happens with -15 on all cores.
I did a quick benchmark to give you guys an overview. Here is the one without PBO2, stock settings: Screenshot
And here is the one with -15 on all cores, set with PBO2 Tuner: Screenshot
What am i doing wrong? I basically followed the Github-guide without the automation, watched some YouTube-videos from other users using the same method, but something is off for me.
I hope you guys can help me.
My full system, if that's important:
-
Ryzen 7 5800X3D
-
32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3600 (CL18)
-
Asus ROG STRIX B550-E GAMING with the latest BIOS
-
Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4
-
Be Quiet! Straight Power 11 (1200W)
/UPDATE:
Thanks for the help! Using the settings that DIMEBAGLoL provided, everything works now. Have to test -30 on all cores a little bit more, but i'm now boosting to 4.4Ghz at 70°C, have test some games and look how they do.
In PBO2 go to the limit section and input…
These setting are for people with air coolers (not recommended) and 240-280 rads.
PPT- 95
TDC- 60
EDC- 90
These setting are for 360 rads or custom cooled loops. (You can try this on 240+ rads, I didn’t have any to test. Use your discretion)
PPT- 120
TDC- 75
EDC- 110
And if you can you gotta try -30. Mine has been smooth since.
(For people who keep asking about automatically applying the limit section)
You just add it after those other commands for the undervolt in task scheduler.
-30 -30 -30 -30 -30 -30 -30 -30 95 60 90 0
Also here are some better settings only if you have a beast cooler. I use a 360 rad on full blast and these settings never reach the throttling max, not even in R32. In heavily bound CPU games like New world in towns I reach as high as 50% usage, never goes above 54c.
PPT- 120 TDC- 75 EDC- 110
So real world testing and artificial tests never touch the max and keeps it even cooler!
EDIT- Glad it worked out for ya bro!
Try to push it a bit more? like -30 ? (Don't set it at windows boot)
It could be ryzen issue :D
with curve, you tell it to use less voltage than stock.
Like instead of 4200mhz @ 1.12V, you could go at 4200@1.10V
But you CPU temp is "lower" so it can push to 4450@1.15
Pay attention to your frequency. The reason why it can get more voltage, and more temp.
And be sure your CPU not go over 75-80°C, and everything will be fine :)
pbo2 tuner works on motherboard a520 aorus elite? cpu ryzen 7 5700x3d?
Ive been using PBO2 Tuner for a little and found my sweet spot for a curve. However every time I open PBO2 Tuner Riot Vanguard gives a warning that something was blocked.
What’s being blocked is inpout.x64.sys.
So, to solve this issue I delete inpout.x64.sys and restart my pc and vanguard doesn’t give me a warning message anymore, otherwise even if my CPU is NOT being undervolted and PBO2 Tuner was not open after a restart, I still get the warning that inpout was blocked.
is there any way i can fix this so i can still undervolt my cpu while still being able to use riot vanguard and not put my riot accounts at potential risk?
my cpu is a 5800x3d so you can imagine i’m in a tough spot. Temps without undervolt: ~55-65 Idle, ~65-85 gaming.
EDIT: So, funny enough I took at look at the Gigabyte page for my motherboard and saw a new bios version released in January but oddly enough it didn’t show up until today or the past 2 days because I’ve been checking continuously for a while now. Anyways, cleared cmos and updated bios and now my CPU temps have dropped a substantial amount to the point where PBO2 tuner isn’t needed as much as it did. I’m still taking a look into vanguard and contacted riot (will edit when they respond) about the PBO2 warning.
Current temps (still without undervolt): ~39-44c idle, ~55-70c gaming.
Hey guys, I set up PBO2 Tuner for the 5800x3d for startup via task scheduler, but I was wondering how would I know if it's running properly with all the settings?
It says it's running, but would the values be set when I open the Tuner? Because they're blank right now.
Or do I just have to monitor the temps and voltages to see if they are consistent with the Tuner like when set up manually?
*edited for spelling
I want PBO2 Tuner to load and automatically set -30 to all cores to my 5800x3d
In this thread they explain how to do it but it dont understand.

Yesterday(3 september), i was doing my routine undervolting my cpu like normal with no problem. Suddenly today, as I going to undervolt it again (since task scheduler sometimes isn't working), i got warning from windows defender that says it flagged PBO2 as trojan virus (severe).
is this normal or should i concern with it??
So, i have the following setup:
-
4080 XLR8 Verto
-
5800x3d (cooled by a Scythe Fuma 2, 1st version)
-
ASUS TUF B550m (using latest BIOS)
-
2x 16gb Kingston Fury 3200mhz CL16
-
Windows on a NVME
-
2x SSDs for gaming
-
XPG Core Reactor 850w
I´ve followed Fr33thy guide to use PBO2 Tuner, and while the software its saying my -30 is applied, it doesnt seem to be actually working..
-
Clocks only going to 4350 while Running C23
-
if im on -20 or -30 on all cores, my temps always go to 84º and it stays theres during the 10min multi-core...
is there anything im missing? maybe something in my bios is preventing? i just want lower temps, nothing else!
