I have axpert (voltronic) vmIII 3kw 24v (set to SBU, also i set the low-voltage-treshold the highest to protect batteries more) and have somewhat similar issues. Have 1600w solar surface and two 12v 200ah lead acid batteries. This voltronic stuff seems not precise in perceiving battery load. Mine never shows batteries full loaded even when i've been out for a few days that have been sunny. Also its quite sensitive to show this error 04 when battery voltage its fairly not that low to worry. Don't really know what the issue is and haven't found it anywhere in the internet. Someone in a solar stuff forum told me that these voltronics need 120v to start running (don't remember the specific number now) but need at least 180v for the MPPT to run correctly. Didn't know what to think since there is nothing about that in the manual but who knows. Batteries get damaged when emptied too much but is not a one-time thing. If the discharge was not too deep and not to long the batteries have not been severely damaged (at least i'm sure they'll work for a few years more). The problem is when solar surface isn't enough to keem them loaded and this happens frequently, that will severely shorten their life. At some point i saw the system was working all right and stopped worrying. I rely more on battery voltage reading. Also i tell everyone at home to connect heavy loads (electric tools and so) only when the sun is hitting and to watch loads when we have a few cloudy days.
