I recently bought a gaming laptop and Elder Scrolls 3 & 4 from Bethesda.net. I assumed since they're older, offline games I could just play them after downloading. Unfortunately, they require me to get online through Bethesda.net to even run the games. Once I've done that however, I can go offline and they work fine. I don't always have an internet connection though. My question as the title says, is there a platform, site, or just some games in general that I can strictly download and play offline? I'm ok with them updating once I get home from work and have internet, I just don't want to keep buying games only to find out that I have to connect online to run them. I've heard Steam has an offline mode so I might check that out.

Hey Reddit! I was wondering if there were any games worth playing offline. My internet is kinda trash and i lag a lot so offline games would be perfect for me to play. Best if its free and open world but either way game is game. Any suggestions?
