However you make it, all the measuring is going to be done by a program on the pc/laptop itself. So there's not much point in using the arduino asides from having it show the data on a nice small display. A typical system would be: the arduino board would be connected to USB and you'd have a program that reads the data you want and writes some messages to the serial port of the board. The firmware on the board then reads the messages from the serial and shows the info on the display. A simpler setup would be a small hdmi display connected to the pc/laptop as a monitor and some software to show data on that monitor. They simplest would be just running a pc monitor software and showing the data on the laptop main monitor directly. More on reddit.com

February 25, 2024I've seen some of you installed monitoring screen on your PC, so I made a tutorial video on how to do it, specifically on the NR200P (Video link in comments)
Here's my question to anyone doing this: How long is this useful for? Cause sure, when you first set up a system, you might miss something and seeing temperatures rise sharply is great for realizing you're missing airflow somewhere important. But once you've got your system dialed in, it's not going to change. Your screen will show the same temperatures in the same scenarios every time, and none of it will be information you really ever need anymore. So is it really just the cool factor, or do people actually have a practical use for it beyond the first month? More on reddit.com
