What are people saying about health markets in Seattle, WA?
This is a review for health markets in Seattle, WA:
"I honestly love this location at Greenwood Village. Nice selection of low-mid and high-priced items. Great selection of cold and hot foods at the deli. Clean salad bar. On my lunch break, I like to grab a slice of pizza and something to drink and sit in the sitting area right outside of the PCC door. They have beautiful flowers, kind and friendly staff and the store was welcoming. Maybe not to exciting for others but I was thrilled to find bottled rain water. I buy it but if thats your thing, PCC Market has it. Overall, 10/10 I would recommend."

Why does anyone shop there? I don’t get it.
Because of convenience? Worse selection than anywhere else. Because of price? It’s more expensive than anywhere else. Because of quality? Worse than Met Market and still more expensive.
I really don’t get it. Or is it just because it’s a co-op? I’m failing to see how that justifies insanely high prices and limited selection.

Broadly speaking, it's ethics. PCC is strongly committed to sustainable agriculture and positive social and economic impact. They actively support local sustainable farmers, advocate for sustainability in the wider food system, treat their employees with respect, and don't ever put profit over the well being of the community, employees or the planet. For some people - particularly those with a lot of disposable income, supporting those values is worth money. Personally, I don't shop much at PCC, because I think there are more efficient ways I could use that extra money to support my values. But that's all there is to it. It's a way for those who have the money to spend to buy food that they know is produced sustainably by people who are paid and treated fairly.

PCC to close its downtown Seattle store due to poor sales | The Seattle Times
April 17, 2025 - Indeed, with PCC closing, downtown residents in search of a full-service grocery will need to go nearly a mile north, to the Whole Foods on Westlake. The only other full-service grocery, the Kress IGA at Third Avenue and Pike Street, closed in 2020, which its owners blamed on crime in the area. Target and H Mart, both on Second Avenue, also offer groceries, as does the Uwajimaya, on Fifth Avenue South. Jon Scholes, president and CEO of the Downtown Seattle Association, called Wednesday’s announcement “unfortunate news for downtown residents, workers and visitors,” in a statement.
