[Troubleshooting] Asus x670e-e 7800x3d code 75 no post no video output
Hello friends,
First AMD build here, google and my mobo manual haven’t been helpful in determining what’s wrong/where to begin
Assembled my build last night, turns on, all lights are on, but there is no video output/bios screen. Motherboard is showing code 75. I have two monitors, one plugged to gpu, one to mobo, since I wasn’t sure what the mobo would default to for video output. Monitors aren’t new and worked fine earlier in the day.
Relevant specs:
7800x3d
Arctic liquid freezer II 420
Asus rog strix x670e-e
G.skill trident z5 ddr5-6000 cl30 32gb
Crucial t700 nvme
Wd black sn850x
Evga 3080 ftw
Any help would be appreciated! My googling skills haven’t yielded anything to point me in the direction to even begin troubleshooting, without playing the “completely reinstall/reseat everything one component at a time” game, which I’d prefer to avoid if possible. Thanks in advance!
I finally decided to bite the bullet and upgrade my tried and true i7-6700k in an old Antec P-180. I ordered these parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/zWwG6Q# and intended to move a RTX2080 and 2TB NVME from my current PC.
I assembled all the parts and hit the power switch fully expecting to deal with some Windows issues but instead I never made it out of POST and the display never activated. I tried all the DP and HDMI ports on the 2080 and the DP/HDMI on the MB but never got any output. Sadly the MB doesn't have a post code 7-segment anymore and the dumb case I ordered doesn't have a power LED for the Q-LED core functionality. I added an LED from an arduino kit and I was getting fast blinking (DRAM not detected) followed by slow blinking (no VGA). Everything attached to the MB powered up and the DRGB LEDs started cycling colors so at some level the MB seemed to be working.
Troubleshooting steps:
-
Removed and reseated both sticks of ram, swapped them, tried each one individually, and finally tried them in the "wrong" slots. Same result every time.
-
Removed checked CPU, everything looked pristine as expected.
-
Removed GPU
-
Removed all attached USB devices
-
Hooked up a TTL->USB converter to get the POST codes from DEBUG-COM port and got this stream of codes which I ran a VLOOKUP in Excel to get this human readable list (Thanks EVGA for publishing a list of what each code means):

Clearly some memory related error codes in there.
The RAM wasn't on the compatibility list but I've never had an issue with other builds in the past as long as the speed/type matched up. I ordered RAM from the list and it is due in tomorrow.
Is there anything else I should look at or what is the next most likely culprit? Seems odd that both modules would be defective.
Hello guys,
So i decided to try building my first gaming PC with the following components:
- AMD Ryzen 5 5600G 6x 3.90GHz - Asus ROG Strix B550-E Gaming Motherboard Socket AM4; - ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3060 Ti V2 OC; - Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4 3200MHz - SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus
So far, it was actually really fun to progress with the setup of all components etc.
However, as I try now to power on my computer, I don't get any screen on my monitor. I've got the error "pch dxe initialization is started" via my MB number screen.
I've reviewed various posts now and some things: starting without GPU, changed both RAM and slots and also tried them separately). I also think, that my MB does support the required bios for CPU. Nevertheless, i could not even try to update bios, since I don't get any display on my monitor screen.
As i don't get anything displayed on my monitor with and without my GPU and by ruling out the possibilities described, I would guess that my CPU might be damaged?
Maybe you guys have some ideas. I would bring my computer to a service shop if nothing will help. However, I would appreciate your help in any case.
Best
