For states that don’t have personal property taxes on vehicles, where do they get their tax money from?
I just wish they would send out the bill at the beginning of the year rather than the end so I can remember to plan for it and decide when to pay. More on reddit.com

Personal property tax is just plain ridiculous
Paying the taxes is not ridiculous. The hoops that Missouri has you jump through for vehicle ownership are ridiculous. Bought a car in late October. Safety inspection didn't get done until mid-November. Had to schedule time off work to go to the DMV where it took me an hour to find out that my property tax receipt from 2021 was a real property tax receipt, not a personal property tax receipt. Since I did not pay personal property tax in 2021, I had to take more time off work to go to the Assessment Department. So I took off another afternoon off. I tried to get in the QLess line around noon, and I was informed that the office was "closed". I called the office, and waited on hold for an hour and half before just hanging up and giving up. That's where I am at. I guess I will need to take another full day off of work during my busiest season in order to get my car titled and tagged. Might have to take two full days. Maybe more. Who knows? No wonder so many people are driving around with expired tags. Please, Missouri, just let me pay you my sales tax, registration and titling fees. Please. More on reddit.com

If your business or organization owns a lot of equipment, you might decide to move your business to New York, where only real property (like land and the structures attached to it) are subject to taxation. However, New York also has an extremely complicated tax code and some of the highest real estate taxes in the country. Additionally, according to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, “Many specific pieces of equipment, which may be considered as personal property in other states are defined as real property under the NYS Real Property Tax Law.”
