PEX-C for whole house replenish?
PEX-A and PEX-C Fitting Question
Videos
Title should say replumb! Autocorrect…
Hi, a buddy has a well respected contractor that specializes in radiant heat who is planning to replumb my 25 year old cpvc supply lines with PEX-C. Said they only use PEX-C.
Everything I read is that plumbers only use PEX-A or B for supply lines. Is it ok to use PEX-C for a whole house replumb?
I’ve also read that for a whole house replumb PEX-A would be the most ideal choice as it allows less joints and doesn’t restrict flow like elbows in PEX-B?
I am working with 3/4" PEX-C tubing to install a water treatment unit.
We had bought the tubing and the plastic Tees and elbows from Lowes. The Tees worked fine. Someone misplaced the elbows so bought some brass Elbows which are marked PEX-A and they don't fit.
Is there a difference in the ID of PEX-A and PEX-C tunings so that the PEX-A fittings will not fit the PEX-C tubing? I tried to search for the specs but all I came across was that the PEX-A/B/C were different only for physical properties resulting from different methods of manufacture and not physical dimensions.
Also, I find 3/4" PEX-C elbows hard to find at local HW stores.
Have bought new brass elbows from Amazon (like this - https://www.amazon.com/Water-Armor-Lead-Free-Corrosion-Connections/dp/B07S7G32HJ) and hope they fit. The work location is a 2 our drive away.
It is strange but there seems to be a shortage or absence of plastic PEX elbows at many HD and Lowes.
Thanks in advance.
