Stupid question on PG
Buyer is guaranteeing a certain amount of spend with a pub no matter if the campaign is off or not - in exchange for specific inventory which the publisher is guaranteeing you usually at a certain price/within a user group etc.(varies) You can also turn a campaign back on. I’ve had PG deals that were supposed to spend in a month and took 3. I think those types of details vary by deal due to terms agreed upon but you’ll most likely be held to the level of spend you agree to no matter what. However as I mentioned T’s and c’s vary - if the deals absolutely sucks or isn’t what was agreed upon and you can prove it, they can always relieve you - which I’ve done as well. Identifying your inventory buyers / advertisers: Run GAM reports to find out your buyers and advertisers. Make sure you are selecting classified advertisers / buyers so that you'll get the programmatic buyer's data. 3. Make a sales pitch: Update your publisher profile (Sales > Deals settings > Publisher profiles) with all your offerings so that buyers can easily find you and learn about your offerings in the ad exchange marketplace. The best way to sell your inventory is through direct agency / advertiser contacts. Try reaching out to contacts through LinkedIn, email, networking, phone call, etc. for the best results. You can also create the deals in your dashboard, and reach out to the buyers and wait for acceptance. Important points to consider while implementing the PMP Deals: Make sure that your CPM for Deals is much higher compared to open auction. Google charges a 15% fee for the deals to keep this in your mind while calculating your effective CPM. The inventory you are selling through the PMP deals should not be available via open auction at the cheaper price. Because if Buyers are able to buy that same inventory at a lower price in an Open auction then there’s no incentive for them to buy via deals. Make it exclusive. Try to set up Programmatic guaranteed deals as opposed to “Always On” PMP deals. This is because, in cause Programmatic Guaranteed Deals, Advertiser / Agency is committing to buy that inventory upfront. Pros and cons of PMP vs. PG deals
Preferred pmp's with fixed rates are my favorite tbh because I'm not forced into trusting publishers with frequency capping and even pacing like with PG deals.
Id recommend you ask your pubs about the waterfalling of their inventory and the priority tier that pmp vs. Pg deals get.
Lastly looking at the price differences could help decide. A 400k budget for a 9 month flight spread across 4 pubs shouldn't have trouble spending, but it depends on your potential campaign restrictions+parameters.
