Proclip. They snap in between the dash seams. Had one for 5 yrs. They adjust a bit for the phone size. Can fit several different phones in mine. Not cheap, I think it was $65 for both the mount and holder. More on reddit.com

I do the air vent because I don’t want to potentially damage the dash. Stocking anything to it may discolor or peel the dash material. (It doesn’t actually discolor but the UV rays will fade the color all around it and leave you with a spot). More on reddit.com

I’ve used windscreen phone mounts but I just don’t like it. Anyone got a decent phone mount that you currently use and can actually say it works properly without falling off. I’ve seen some cheap ones on eBay but looking at the reviews they don’t seem promising.

I've tried a ton of different mounts. The one that I found to be the most reliable/actually stay put were the iOttie ones. I wound up combining an iOttie wireless charger with some proclip parts since my vent slats are vertical, but still.
